If you love peanut butter, then these peanut butter pancakes will be your new favorite breakfast. They are a peanut butter lover’s dream come true.
Pancakes are one of my favorite breakfast foods. When we go out to breakfast I am usually a sucker for the pancakes but I do love making them at home too. For a fun flavor variation try mixing up a batch of peanut butter pancakes.
How to Make Peanut Butter Pancakes
- In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt.
- In another bowl mix together peanut butter, sugar and oil until smooth. Add in egg and milk.
- Pour milk mixture into flour mixture and stir until blended. Do not overmix.
- Grease griddle and heat.
- Pour batter onto griddle and cook until bubbles appear on the surface and then flip. Cook on second side for a few more minutes.
How To Make Fluffy Pancakes
- Don’t over mix the pancake batter. Too much mixing causes the gluten protein to bond tightly with other gluten proteins which makes for a tough pancake.
- Flip the pancakes when tiny bubbles form and the edges of the pancake look slightly dry.
- Only flip the pancake once and don’t press down on it with the spatula.
How to Serve Pancakes
We love to serve these pancakes with:
- Banana slices
- Peanut Butter
- Honey
- Maple Syrup
- Strawberry Jam
It’s also a nice way to get a bit of protein into your pancakes.

Just found this recipe on Pinterest and I can’t wait to try it! My 2 year old daughter loves to eat pancakes with peanut butter on them almost every morning. Unfortunatly it was getting pretty messy to give her peanut butter ON the pancakes, so I’m hoping this will appease her desire for peanut butter without so much mess 🙂

Hope your daughter loves them!
