Why You’ll Love This Recipe

It happens to all of us, it’s late at night and that chocolate craving hits. You need a brownie but you don’t want or need a whole batch. This Nutella Mug Cake recipe is the perfect solution. It only takes a couple of minutes to mix together, four ingredients and then it bakes. Eat it straight out of the oven with a little ice cream for best results!

What is Nutella?

Nutella is a sweetened hazelnut and cocoa spread. It was originally manufactured in Italy in 1964.

Ingredients Needed

Nutella. A chocolate-hazelnut spread. You can find the jars of Nutella near the peanut butter in the grocery store.

Flour. I use unbleached all purpose flour

Egg. You are only using 2 Tbsp of beaten egg. Using the whole egg will make your brownie taste too eggy.

Salt.

How to Make Nutella Mug Cake

  • In a bowl, combine all the ingredients and stir to incorporate.
mixing nutella brownie batter
  • Spray baking dish with nonstick cooking spray or grease with butter.
  • Pour batter into a greased 4-6 ounce ramekin

  • Bake at 350 degrees F. for 20-25 minutes depending on how gooey you like it.

Flavor Variation

  • For a more chocolate flavor, substitute 1 Tbsp of flour for 1 Tbsp of cocoa powder.
  • To make the brownie even more gooey. Add an extra spoonful of Nutella into the middle of the batter after adding it to the ramekin.
  • Add in a tablespoon of chocolate chips for more chocolate goodness.

How to Serve Nutella Mug Cake

I eat it right out of the dish and love to add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and some fresh berries on top.
