Why You Will Love This Recipe?

There are so many reasons to love this cookie. It combines three of your favorite cookies, peanut butter, oatmeal and chocolate chip all in one perfect cookie. The cookie is perfectly chewy with amazing texture. It only takes minutes to mix together and it’s the perfect amount for 1-2 people. You aren’t tempted to eat too many cookies!

If you would prefer a full size batch of monster cookies use this recipe.

Ingredients Needed

  • Butter. I use salted butter but if using unsalted just add a pinch more salt.
  • Peanut Butter. Creamy peanut butter is my preference but you can also use crunchy.
  • Sugar. Use a combination of brown sugar and white sugar or you can just use all of one kind.
  • Egg. You are only going to use 2 Tbsp of beaten egg, not the whole egg.
  • Vanilla Extract.
  • Baking Soda.
  • Salt
  • Oats. Use old fashioned oats for the best texture. You can use quick oats but the cookie won’t be as chewy. For a gluten free make sure you are using gluten free oats.
  • Chocolate Chips
  • M & M’s

Why is it Called A Monster Cookie?

There are several different reasons out their for how this cookie got it’s name but I think it is because it is just one “monster of a cookie!” Full of so much goodness, and it’s big. Monsters are big right!

How to Make a Giant Monster Cookie for One

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a bowl, combine sugars and peanut butter and stir until combined.
  • Add in 2 Tbsp beaten egg. Save the rest for another giant cookie.

adding M & M's into monster cookies
  • Add in oatmeal, chocolate chips and M & M’s. The dough is wet.
  • Form dough into a 3 1/2 inch round disc on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Is a Monster Cookie the same thing as a Cowboy Cookie?

As far as I know it is. In Texas they call it a Cowboy Cookie, I guess they don’t like monsters!

Can I freeze these cookies?

These cookies freeze great! You can follow all my directions for freezing cookies after they are baked here. If you prefer, you can freeze the cookie dough before it is baked using these directions.

Can I make more than one cookie from this recipe?

If you prefer, you can make two medium size cookies or four small cookies from this recipe.
