Homemade is best. Making homemade salad dressing is so easy. You usually have all the ingredients on hand, it tastes so much better than store bought and it’s less expensive! You can also control the amount of ingredients you put into the dressing, if you want less of something or more of a certain ingredient, you have total control.
What is Greek Salad Dressing?
Traditionally it is a vinaigrette that is made with red wine vinegar, olive oil, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper.
Ingredients Needed
- Olive Oil
- Red Wine Vinegar
- Garlic Salt. If you prefer you an use fresh minced garlic but you will need to add some salt into taste.
- Oregano
- Basil
- Pepper
- Onion Powder
- Dijon Mustard
How to Make Greek Salad Dressing
- Combine all the ingredients in a bowl.
- Whisk to combine.
- Store unused dressing in the refrigerator.

Does this dressing need to be refrigerated?
It does need to be stored in the refrigerator. It will solidfy because of the olive oil so let it sit out at room temperature before using. You can also warm it quickly by putting it in the microwave for a few seconds. It can last for 2-3 months in the refrigerator.
What does Greek Salad dressing tastes like?
Because of the mustard and the lemon juice it has a bit of a tang to it, which I love. If you prefer something sweater add a bit of sugar or honey to the dressing.
Can I use fresh herbs instead of dry?
If you prefer to use fresh herbs use twice as much as listed for dry.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup olive oil
- 1 cup red wine vinegar
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp garlic salt
- 2 tsp oregano dry
- 2 tsp basil dry
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
