This Witches Brew Punch is the kid’s and grown ups favorite Halloween punch recipe. It’s so easy to throw together and always a big hit.
Spooky Halloween Punch
Because we didn’t have enough sugar at our I Scream You Scream Witch Halloween Party with ice cream and cupcakes I decided we needed a punch too! I hadn’t made a punch in a while. It use to be at any church event or shower you went to there was always a punch bowl full of some yummy, fruity punch. Often with some type of ice cream or sherbet floating in it. Maybe punch is out of style now? I think it’s time we brought back punch! When’s the last time you had a yummy punch??
Lime Sherbet Punch
Today’s punch recipe is one of those “been around forever recipes” that I have in my collection. It probably came from some church event or shower I attended in the 70’s or 80’s.
To serve the punch, I didn’t pull out my punch bowl (yes, I actually have two punch bowls) But instead used my cast iron cauldron I recently picked up at an antique mall. I was so excited to find it and knew it would be perfect for my witch’s brew. There are holes in the bottom of the pot and it was pretty rusty so I found a metal bowl to fit in the inside of the cauldron.
Witches Brew Ingredients
- Pineapple Juice
- Lime Sherbet
- Lemon Lime Soda or Ginger Ale
- Lime Juice
How to Make Witches Brew
- Pour juices into punch bowl.
- Add lime sherbet
- Pour ginger ale or lemon lime soda over the sherbet
Tips for Making Witches Brew
- Reduce the calories by using diet soda.
- Make it greener. If you want your punch a deeper green, add in a little green food color.
- Add plastic eyeballs for a spooky effect. I found them at the Dollar Store.
- Dry Ice. For even more spookiness, add in a piece of dry ice to the punch to create a spooky smokey effect.
The girls at the party loved it!!

Hi there – We’re making a punch for our Halloween party too – and after seeing this, I will need to hunt for some eyeballs as they look great! We’re in Cornwall, England, and we don’t have a great selection of Halloween accessories available but I’m sure I’ll be able to find some eyeball sweets or even draw some onto plain balls if it comes to that – after seeing this, I don’t think our bowl would look complete without them!
Thanks for this.

Good luck on your hunt. I think drawing some eyes on ping pong balls would work great too.

ok I know this is a stupid question how do you use dry ice? I know not in drink do you put it between the 2 bowls?would love to try this for our homeschool coop Halloween party thanks
Leigh Anne says
Veronica, I didn’t actually use dry ice for this. You can put it directly in the punch so that the punch bubbles but you don’t want to drink it. It will sink to the bottom of the punch. Also, don’t touch it with bare skin.
