This spinach salad is a combination of bacon, strawberries, cheese, hazelnuts and a delicious warm bacon dressing. The perfect salad for any meal.

We love to serve this salad with Huli Huli Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken, The Perfect Steak and Crock Pot Pork Roast.

Everything is better with bacon, right? Adding bacon to this Strawberry Spinach Salad adds a little crunch and the perfect flavor. The dressing is infused with the bacon drippings and then crisp bacon is sprinkled on top for added crunch and flavor.

How to Make Warm Bacon Vinaigrette

  • Cook bacon until crisp and then crumble.
  • Remove 2 Tbsp of drippings and combine with diced shallot, mustard, vinegar, water and sugar.
  • Stir and heat through.

Salad Substitutions

Strawberries. Use another kind of berry or apples or pears would be lovely.

Hazelnuts. Use whatever you have on hand. I love to add Candied pecans for a change.

Cheese. The recipe uses Gorgonzola but you could use feta or even some grated Swiss cheese.

I love this salad, but you made it even better by making strawberry hearts! Love it.

We’re going to be pretty boring and stay home. Unfortunately my hubby will be working late, so maybe we’ll celebrate another day.
