A delicious Beef Gyro made in the Instant Pot or the slow cooker is a delicious and easy weeknight dinner idea.
I’m going to be teaching a class on the Instant Pot for our women’s group at church this week so I’ve been playing with my Instant Pot quite a bit lately. One of the other experiments was this delicious, tender beef I used for beef gyros. Don’t worry if you don’t have an Instant Pot though, you can make this gyro recipe in your slow cooker too!
Gyro meat is traditionally cooked on a rotisserie, but since I don’t have one I figured out a delicious beef gyro recipe that I can make in my Instant Pot.  I used flank steak, but you can use any kind of beef roast to make your beef gyro. One of the benefits of an Instant Pot is you can use tougher pieces of meat and it makes them very tender.  I sliced up the roast so that the slices were about 1/4″ thick. If you use flank steak, make sure to cut the meat across the grain.

This meat is flavored with garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, parsley and lemon juice. Â The meat has lots of delicious flavor. Â I like to serve it with tzatziki sauce and naan bread. Â My favorite naan bread is this homemade version but you can also buy it frozen at Trader Joes! Â I added chopped tomato, red onion and cucumber on top along with the tzatziki sauce too.
I used the meat/stew button on the Instant Pot so the meat cooked for about 30 minutes after coming to pressure. And I used a natural release.  So the total cook time was almost an hour. If you are making it in the slow cooker you will be cooking it on high for 3 1/2 – 4 hours or low for 6-7 hours.
Wrap up your tender meat, tzatziki, sauce, tomatoes, cucumber and onion in a warm piece of naan bread and enjoy!

Hi! I will try this this week in my slow cooker. I never know what type of roast to buy. I see flank steak is an option but what cut of beef roast do you recommend? Thank you!

If you do it in the slow cooker, how long do you cook the beef? Looks yummy!
