Nutella Chocolate Chip Cookies are chewy and delicious. The addition of Nutella is a fun way to dress up your basic chocolate chip cookie.
How many of you have a secret pleasure in life? That jar or carton of something that you keep hidden in the back of the cupboard or the freezer that you hope no one else finds.
Well, I have several of them. There is the bag of Cadbury chocolate eggs in my desk drawer, the carton of Haagen Daaz ice cream in the back of the freezer and then there is also the jar of Nutella hidden in the pantry.
Today I decided to share my Nutella, in the form of a chocolate chip Nutella cookie.
What is Nutella?
Nutella is a chocolate and hazelnut spread. It is a brand name and made in Italy, You can also find other generic brands of “chocolate hazelnut spread.”
Tips for Tender Cookies
- Use part cake flour for a more tender cookie. This recipe uses both all purpose and cake flour. You can use all regular all purpose flour if you need to.
- Don’t over mix your cookies. Mix just until all the flour is incorporated.
How to Make Nutella Chocolate Chip Cookies
- In a bowl beat butter until soft, about one minute
- Add in sugars and beat for an additional 2-3 minutes or until soft and fluffy.
- Mix in vanilla, egg and Nutella. Mix together well.
- Add in flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until just incorporated.
- Add in chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough into balls and place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 8 minutes at 350 degrees F or until set around the edges.
These cookies were so good I had to bag them up and deliver them to some friends to get them out of my house or I could not be held responsible for the number of calories I consumed.
This cookie is just the way I like, not too thick, not too thin. Soft in the middle and a little crisp on the edges. Pretty much perfection.

I try to hide things like my favorite chocolate etc… but my daughter and my husband always find them. The nutella jar is my son’s domain. I think he has it booby trapped. We are all afraid to go near it. Love the idea of nutella in chocolate chip cookies. Thanks for bring this by foodie friday.
