These Twix Cookies are the perfect combination of my favorite candy bar and my favorite chocolate chip cookie!
Why I Love This Recipe!
If I had to pick a favorite candy bar it would be a Twix bar. I like them so much that my husband proposed to me with a Twix bar!
We had gone out for a nice romantic dinner and when we returned to his house, the lights were dimmed and George Benson was playing on the record player (yes, a record player) He pulled out a coupon book he had made with construction paper and Twix bars. How sweet is that?
The coupons were for all my favorite things, an ice cream cone at Baskin Robbins, a coupon for a foot rub, a doughnut from Winchells, tickets to a Kenny Loggins concert, a ride in his car, “the bomb”, and of course a coupon for a Twix bar.
The last coupon was for this…
A coupon for a diamond ring and then a coupon that entitled me to the love and devotion of Jim for an extra long time – eternity! I said yes and now I can never eat a Twix bar without thinking about that night!
So back to the Twix cookies.
Ingredients Needed
- Flour. I use unbleached all purpose flour
- Baking soda
- Salt
- Butter. For this recipe I used unsalted. If you only have salted butter just use half the amount of salt.Â
- Sugar. Both brown sugar and granulated sugar.
- Eggs
- Vanilla Extract
- Twix Candy Bars
- Milk Chocolate Chips. Optional add in
How to Make Twix Cookies
- Chop your Twix bar into 1/4 inch chunks. Cut each bar in half lengthwise and then chop into 1/4 inch pieces width wise
- In a bowl, combine flour, soda and salt and set aside.
- Melt butter in microwave or on stovetop. Partially cool.
- In your mixer, blend butter and sugars together until combined
- Beat in egg, egg yolk and vanilla
- Add in dry ingredients and beat until just combined
- Fold in Twix Bar chunks into cookie dough.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 13-16 minutes until light golden brown and edges start to harden but center is soft. Do not over bake. Cool on wire rack. Because of the caramel in the Twix they may stick a bit to the cookie sheet so use a spatula to remove

How many twix bars make two cups? Do you buy a specific sized bag? Thanks!
Leigh Anne says
I had a bag of the snack size bars and just opened up enough until I had two cups. Sorry but I don’t remember how many it took.

Just curious Leigh Anne if the brown sugar is dark or light?
Leigh Anne says
light brown sugar. With my recipes you can always assume it is light. I will always specify if dark is required. Thanks!

So I made a batch of these Twix cookies this afternoon expecting a basic chocolate chip-ish cookie with hunks of Twix. My expectations were definitely exceeded! The caramel in the Twix melts then cools forming something along the lines of toffee. The cookies are chewy but the cookie part from the candy bars, plus the butter, makes them a little cripsy at the same time- delightful! And of course, you have the chocolate… Even the dough was beautiful to work with. I loved these cookies so much I had to quickly give half of them away, so I wouldn’t eat them all! This recipe is a keeper, thanks for posting! 🙂
