Why You’ll Love This Recipe
If you love steak, but want a quick and easy way to prepare it indoors, these steak bites are for you! I have made these twice in the last few weeks because they are so easy and delicious. If you are eating Paleo or Whole30 these are a great recipe choice!
They are great when you have lighter eaters at your dinner table. No need to deal with a large piece of meat. Just take as many bites as you like. No waste!

Ingredients Needed
You only need a few ingredients to make these delicious steak bites.
- Sirloin Steak
- Butter
- Kosher Salt and Freshly Ground Black Pepper

How to Make Steak Bites
- Cut steak into large bite size pieces.

- Heat up a cast iron pan nice and hot. If you don’t have a cast iron pan use a heavy skillet.
- Add butter and let it melt.

- Cook steak to your desired doneness. I like my meat medium to medium rare. And the small pieces make the cooking time quick! So make sure to watch your meat.

Steak Bites Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 Tbsp Olive oil
- 1 lb sirloin steak cubed
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic minced
Instructions
- Trim off the large obvious pieces of fat that run along the side of the meat
- Cut cubes less than 1 inch wide
- If you see anymore large chunks of fat, gristle or long silvery membranes cut them off
- Sprinkle generously with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Toss the meat around a bit to thoroughly coat with the seasonings
- Turn on your ventilation fan overhead
- Heat the skillet over medium high to high heat
- As the pan heats, add olive oil
- Place some of the meat in the pan in a single layer
- It should sizzle loudly when it hits the pan – if it doesn’t, the pan isn’t hot enough
- Don't stir or disrupt the meat for 2-3 minutes
- You want it to sizzle and brown on one side
- Now scoop as many steak bites as you can with your spatula and flip them over
- Repeat until all the meat is turned
- Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes – just long enough to sear the outside of the meat but NOT cook the inside
- Rare: 120 degrees (4 minutes)Medium-Rare: 125 degrees (5 minutes)Medium: 130 degrees (6 minutes)
- Remove the meat to a clean plate
- Add a little more oil to the pan and repeat the cooking process with the next batch just as before
- Lastly when all the meat is nicely browned and removed to the plate pour garlic butter over the top
Garlic Butter
- Heat butter in a skillet. Add the garlic and cook for only 30-60 seconds, stirring to prevent garlic browning.

I did not know about Pioneer Woman, until you introduced me through your blog a while back. I have not tried many of her recipes yet, but I have tried this:

Farfalle with Zucchini. So good!
I beg to disagree with you on one point in your post, though. Your pictures do NOT pale by comparison!

I found Pioneer Woman through you and absolutely love her. I have to check her site before going to the grocery store to make sure she doesen’t have a new recipe up I want to try. My family loves Cheesy Olive bread and I love Asian Noodle Salad.
