Tips from leigh Anne

  1. Always heat your milk low and slow, don ‘t let it come to a boil. It is ok to just let small bubbles form around the edge of the pan.
  2. Stir or whisk the milk before pouring it into a mug. The white chocolate will separate out a bit but stirring will recombine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use milk chocolate or semi sweet chocolate?

Absolutely, use the chocolate of your choice such as milk chocolate, semi sweet chocolate or dark chocolate, you just won’t be able to color it with food coloring.

How long will Halloween hot chocolate last?

Store any leftover hot chocolate in an airtight container in the fridge for 5-7 days. Just reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop.

What is the best way to keep it warm to serve to a crowd?

I love to use my crock pot. Bring the hot chocolate to temperature on the stovetop and then pour into crockpot and keep it on warm with the lid on until ready to serve.

What a fun idea! My 6-year old would especially love the googly eyes – this is now on my list to make after a night of trick-or-treating. Thanks for the idea!

Cute hot chocolate! Sorry to hear about you having rain too, Leigh Anne. We also had just short of 4 inches of rain but it was in just over 24 hours about a week ago. Not fun.

Oooohh….I am THRILLED that I found your website via Pinterest. I am now your newest follower. I have a tremendous amount of respect, immense respect, for your advocacy of motherhood/family while concurrently finding a way to be creative and work. I, too, subscribe to that ideology and, as a journalist, live out that belief system. I have managed to maintain some semblance of a professional career while also raising (homeschooling, too) my beloved kids.

    You are an immense blessing!
