Chicken Yakisoba Noodles

One Pan Chicken Yakisoba Noodles is the quickest and most delicious way to get dinner on the table.  Even better,  you only need one pan and  20 minutes!

Chicken Yakisoba

Why You Will Love This Recipe!

My ultimate dream is to be able to cook in the kitchen and have someone follow behind me that cleans up after me!

This recipe for One Pan Chicken Yakisoba Noodles is the perfect solution for a delicious meal with little clean up.  Noodle dishes are a kid friendly dinner and a favorite at our house.   Ramen was always a favorite of my boys and I think one of my son’s pretty much lived off of it in college.  This recipe for Yakisoba noodles is so much better than the dried ramen noodles you buy in the store but it is just as easy to make.

Ingredients Needed

  • Chicken. I use boneless, skinless chicken breasts but you could also use chicken thighs.
  • Onion. Diced or chopped
  • Soy Sauce. You can use low sodium or regular.
  • Brown Sugar
  • Garlic. Fresh and minced
  • Sesame Oil. You will find this in the Asian aisle at the grocery store. It provides a lot of flavor so don’t leave it out. Don’t substitute vegetable oil.
  • Sesame seeds. For garnish
  • Red Pepper Flakes. This will add a bit of heat so you can leave it off if you prefer.
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Olive Oil. You can also use avocado oil, canola oil or vegetable oil.
  • Yakisoba Noodles. You will find these vacuum packed in the produce aisle of the grocery store. Do not use dried ramen noodles.
  • Broccoli Slaw. This comes packaged in the produce aisle, usually near the grated carrots or cabbage.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I prep the chicken yakisoba noodles?

When you open the package there will be one big clump of noodles. Gently run them under some warm water and they will loosen up and separate. You can also microwave them in the package for a few seconds to warm them and loosen them. Be sure and check the directions on the package.

I can’t find broccoli slaw, what else can I use?

It is a combination of shredded broccoli stalks and shredded carrot so you could make your own. You could also substitute in shredded cabbage.

Can I add in other vegetables?

The addition of some snow peas, mushrooms, diced celery, zucchini, red bell pepper or any other veggies you like would all be delicious. You may want to saute them before adding them in with the hoodles.

Can I use something other than chicken?

This dish is also delicious with some shrimp, thinly sliced beef or even some ground pork.

Loved this! Super easy. The flavor balance in the sauce was great. Not too heavy on the soy or sesame. I used low-sodium soy sauce and the only extra salt I added was to the chicken while that cooked.

Will definitely make again and once we can have dinner guests again I will probably try a veggie version for my vegetarian friend.

A friend of mine shared this recipe on Facebook in early November. We’ve eaten it every week since then. I still haven’t made it with chicken. We just stir fry more veggies for a few minutes then continue the recipe as written. Thanks for such a great recipe!

This was super easy to make but a little too salty for my taste. I think next time I’ll decrease the soy sauce by one tablespoon. Thanks for the recipe!

Did you try it with low-sodium soy sauce? That might help. That’s what I used, and I didn’t add extra salt except to salt the chicken a little while it was cooking. That was just right for us, but tastes vary.
