Why You Will Love This Recipe!
My ultimate dream is to be able to cook in the kitchen and have someone follow behind me that cleans up after me!
This recipe for One Pan Chicken Yakisoba Noodles is the perfect solution for a delicious meal with little clean up. Noodle dishes are a kid friendly dinner and a favorite at our house. Ramen was always a favorite of my boys and I think one of my son’s pretty much lived off of it in college. This recipe for Yakisoba noodles is so much better than the dried ramen noodles you buy in the store but it is just as easy to make.
Ingredients Needed
- Chicken. I use boneless, skinless chicken breasts but you could also use chicken thighs.
- Onion. Diced or chopped
- Soy Sauce. You can use low sodium or regular.
- Brown Sugar
- Garlic. Fresh and minced
- Sesame Oil. You will find this in the Asian aisle at the grocery store. It provides a lot of flavor so don’t leave it out. Don’t substitute vegetable oil.
- Sesame seeds. For garnish
- Red Pepper Flakes. This will add a bit of heat so you can leave it off if you prefer.
- Salt and Pepper
- Olive Oil. You can also use avocado oil, canola oil or vegetable oil.
- Yakisoba Noodles. You will find these vacuum packed in the produce aisle of the grocery store. Do not use dried ramen noodles.
- Broccoli Slaw. This comes packaged in the produce aisle, usually near the grated carrots or cabbage.
What is Broccoli Slaw Made of?
Broccoli slaw is a salad that is a combination of shredded raw broccoli stalks along with some shredded carrot. It is often used a substitute for shredded cabbage.

Where do you buy YakiSoba noodles? Could you send a photo of the pkg. ?
Leigh Anne says
They are usually in the refrigerated produce section of the grocery store.
Sherry says
I could not find at my local grocery stores but I found them at my Asian market!

Still not clear on the marinade/sauce. In the post you mention the chicken in a marinade but the recipe says pour sauce over as you combine???
Leigh Anne says
I went in and clarified the directions, hope that helps.

I made this for dinner last night and it was a hit ! Will definitely make it again. I was wondering about using the pre made coleslaw instead of the broccoli slaw, which I used, but we don’t like too much crunchy broccoli, so I really cooked it down. It was delicious. I will add some grated fresh ginger next time, but that’s all I would do differently. A keeper !
Leigh Anne says
I am so glad you loved it too. You can definitely use cabbage. I love the crunch of the broccoli though.
Joy says
I looked and looked and can’t find the Yakisoba noodles. Where do you find them?
Leigh Anne says
They are usually in the produce section of the grocery store.
Sherry says
Can’t find in produce aisle but have found in grocery section where the ramen noodles are packaged like Raman noodles with flavoring- are these it or what to substitute
Leigh Anne Wilkes says
No, those aren’t what I used, they are a “fresh” noodle, not dried. Maybe ask the produce guy if they have them.
Sherry says
Thank you for your quick response
