Berry Crisp made with raspberries and blueberries is dessert heaven. Â With berry season in full swing the possible berry combinations are many!
One thing the Northwest does right is berries! And in the summer time I love to use them in baking. We love any kind of berry crisp at our house. This recipe can be made with any combination of berries, so choose your favorites. You can even use frozen berries. This combo of raspberries and blueberries is one of our favorites.
I used the half pint size jars and they were the perfect personal serving of berry crisp, but this recipe can also be made in a 9 x 13 pan.
Ingredients Needed
- Berries, blueberries and raspberries
- Sugar, granulated sugar and brown sugar
- Cornstarch
- Flour
- Oats
- Cinnamon and Nutmeg
- Butter
How to Make Berry Crisp
- Combine berries and sugar in a bowl and mix to coat. If using frozen berries add in 2 Tbsp of cornstarch for thickening.
- Mix together flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a second bowl.
- Cut in butter using a pastry mixer until crumbly.
- Divide berries into mason jars or put them in a 9 x 13 pan. This recipe will make 12 half pint jars or one 9×13 pan.
- Add crumble to the top of the berries.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-40 minutes or until the fruit is bubbly and the topping will be golden brown
