What is Monkey Bread?
Monkey bread is bite sized pieces of dough baked together with other ingredients such as cinnamon, butter and sugar. You can also use savory ingredients such as in this Cheese Pull Apart Bread or this Pizza Monkey Bread.
I have shared a recipe for monkey bread before. It is made with yeast dough that is made from scratch but I decided to simplify the recipe and use store bought biscuit dough for this mini monkey bread muffins.

I made it for a snack during our coffee break at church and they were amazing! Absolutely none left over. I could only fit 6 pieces of dough into each muffin cup, and after they expanded during baking, they were the perfect size.
Melinda says
These were great right out of the oven but once they cooled off they got hard. It could have been something I did wrong. These also made my house smell amazing. I would rate these 4 1/2 stars and 5 stars if I was the one that didn’t do something right to cause them to get hard.
Leigh Anne Wilkes says
Try baking them not as long next time and see if that helps, if they are overbaked they will harden up as they cool.
Joy says
Can these be made in regular cupcake sized pan? Does the amount of biscuit pieces need to be reduced?
Leigh Anne Wilkes says
Ii used a regular cupcake sized pan, it just had six openings instead of twelve.
