With the holidays coming it’s time to start planning that holiday menu and at our house, homemade dinner rolls are always at the top of the list.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe
Thanksgiving is in just a few days, do you have your menu all figured out?  I texted my kids a list of everything that was on our menu and I immediately got a text back asking, what about the dinner rolls?  Homemade rolls are required at our house.  I know for a lot of people, working with yeast can be a scary thing.  I had so many questions about it, I actually wrote a whole post on how to work with yeast.  You can find it here. It’s actually a lot easier than you may think and the results are so worth it.  For me, nothing beats a homemade, freshly baked loaf of bread or pan of rolls!
The perfect dinner roll is light, soft, tender and warm. Â Now you can get light and soft rolls at the bakery but getting them warm, fresh out of the oven just doesn’t happen unless you make them at home! Making your own dinner rolls does take a little time but the results are so worth it.

I was looking for a recipe that would remind me of the rolls we made in Denmark as a child… and these are IT! I am heading to the store tomorrow – I can’t wait!!!

Jen says
Is this one package of yeast? One pack is usually 2 1/2 tsp, but this calls for TBSP
Leigh Anne says
Jen, No, it’s one Tablespoon of yeast, so you will need two packets of yeast. There are 3 teaspoons in a Tablespoon.

I would love it if you would post your menu you’ve made up for the kids’ visit home. Honestly, that’s where I always struggle with the full house on the holidays. Suddenly, I cannot come up with any good meals which work with a busy schedule and a full house!

I have a special file for good recipes and most of them are yours! The dinner roll pictures look exactly like my grandmother’s rolls from years ago. We’d visit the farm every holiday and my favorite was always the rolls and home-made butter. Can’t wait to try this recipe!

Betty, I love hearing that! I am so glad you enjoy the blog and the recipes. I love that these rolls remind you of the ones your grandmother use to make. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
