Tips from leigh Anne

  1. Butter lettuce is softer and a great lettuce for wraps. Iceberg lettuce will also work. But it is crisper and tends to fall apart when eating. Romaine lettuce or Bibb lettuce is another good choice.
  2. You can also serve this with rice also for added bulk. Add a layer of rice onto the lettuce and then topped with meat mixture.
  3. For additional texture and crunch top your beef lettuce wraps with some water chestnuts, shredded cabbage
  4. For a little heat, add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I use instead of ground beef?

You could also use ground chicken, ground turkey or ground pork if you prefer.

How do I toast the almonds?

Place almonds in a single layer on a microwave safe plate and microwave for 2-3 minutes, stopping every 3o minutes to stir. Watch closely after the first minute to avoid burning. You can also toast them in the oven at 350 degrees F in a single layer, baking until the almonds are fragrant and lightly browned. Flip almonds halfway through baking.  It will take about approximately. 7-8 minutes.

While traveling in Korea several years ago I ate at the local restaurants and loved the beef in lettuce wraps. The meat was cooked on little hibachi’s on the table. Delicious
