This spicy honey glazed chicken is so easy to prepare and tastes delicious. Can cook it on the grill or in the oven.
Buying my husband a new grill for Father’s Day was one of the best presents I ever gave myself, I mean gave my husband!
It makes summertime cooking so easy and the no mess in the kitchen is even better. Putting some meat in to marinade first thing in the morning and then pulling it out thirty minutes before we want to eat is the perfect kind of meal prep! And there is just something about grill marks on a piece of meat that make me happy.
Today’s recipe has that perfect combo – a little heat and a little sweet. The two balance themself out perfectly.
The marinade for this spicy honey glazed chicken is a combo of barbeque sauce, honey, sriracha sauce and lemon juice. It has a nice sweet tang to it! Be sure and save some of the marinade before you put the chicken into it to glaze the chicken with while it grills. It gives it more flavor and makes it look prettier too.
If you don’t have a BBQ grill or it is the middle of winter and there are ten feet of snow on the ground you can still enjoy this yummy chicken. You can totally bake it in the oven or better yet, get yourself a grill pan so you can still get those grill marks!
- 4 chicken breasts
- 1/4 C BBQ sauce I like Sweet Baby Rays
- 1 Tbsp sriracha sauce
- 1/3 C honey
- 1/4 C whole grain mustard
- 1 Tbsp grated lemon peel
- 1/4 C lemon juice
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- Mix together marinade and set aside 1/3 c to baste chicken with.
- Heat grill to medium high heat.
- Remove chicken from marinade and place on hot grill. Grill 5-10 minutes each side.
- When you flip the chicken brush with reserved marinade.
