Mango Banana Smoothie I am a smoothie girl.  I love starting my day off with a green smoothie. I usually have 1-2 a day.   My husband is the green smoothie maker at our house though.  He gets up at 4:45 a.m. every morning for work and makes a double or triple batch and leaves me one or two in the refrigerator for breakfast and lunch.  Isn’t he a sweetie? Right now we have a garden full of spinach and kale so he just goes out to the garden each morning and cuts his own greens. I am going to have to get him to do a guest post here on the blog to share how he makes them every morning because I am never awake when he does!! I do love to use my blender though to make fruit smoothies. I love to try different combinations of fruit, usually whatever I happen to have on hand or in the freezer.  A few weeks ago I bought a big bag of frozen mango at the Costco so I decided to use it in a smoothie.  I was in the mood for something tropical. Mango Banana Smoothie The best thing about a smoothie is you can just figure it out as you go.  Use what you  have on hand and go by taste!  I also had some bananas and pineapple juice so I added those in too. Mango Banana Smoothie I added in some Honey Greek Yogurt and ice and then just blended away. Mango Banana Smoothie I just added in more juice until I got the consistency I like. Mango Banana One of the most important things to have when you make a smoothie is a good blender.  One that will blend it up quickly and smoothly – I don’t like chunks of fruit in my smoothie, especially when they get stuck in the straw.  So if you are in need of a new awesome blender you are going to want to enter to win a NEW Blendtec Blender!!! I have been praying for a high power blender to make my drinks that use a lot of ice. My blender is not powerful enough to make them properly. This would be such a blessing to win this blender. :-)

A new blender that can crush ice would be great…then I wouldn’t have big chunks of ice in my smoothies!

You have to try my favorite summer drink recipe – it’s so easy! Just fill blender with frozen strawberries, then add Paul Newman’s limeade to cover and blend til smooth. YUMMY!

I love smoothies! I have a green smoothie every morning for breakfast, too! That said, I was excited to see what #8’s recipe was . . . it doesn’t look like the healthy chocolate shake that it says it is! But, I loved that recipe nonetheless and may make it sometime. And your mango smoothie just looks so creamy and delicious. I buy the frozen mango chunks as well because there isn’t much worse than trying to slice a mango. In a few recipes, I have just used mango baby food. I am all for easy work.

I have a kitchenaid blender that is about 12 years old and ready to retire, so this would be the perfect replacement! I just love frozen mango in my smoothies, I haven’t tried the pineapple juice yet. It sounds delicious :)
