These Maple White Chocolate Chip Cookies have amazing taste and texture. The addition of the maple glaze made with real maple syrup takes these cookies over the top!!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe!

This is my new favorite cookie!

The flavor of these maple white chocolate chip cookies is amazing and the texture is perfection.

I am the number one fan of chocolate chip cookies.  They are hands down my favorite cookie, which is evidenced by the number of chocolate chip cookie recipes here on the blog! One of my favorite things to do is create non traditional versions of the chocolate chip cookie.  Today’s recipe is one of them. And, if I do say so myself,  they are perfection!

White Chocolate Chip Cookies with drizzled maple frosting

Ingredients Needed

  • Flour
  • Baking soda
  • Salt
  • Butter
  • Brown sugar
  • Granulated sugar
  • Powdered sugar
  • Eggs
  • Maple extract or Mapleine flavoring
  • Pure Maple syrup (for glaze)
  • White chocolate chips

What is Mapleine?

The maple flavoring in the cookie dough gives them just the right amount of maple flavor. I used Mapleine which can be found in the baking aisle with the other extracts, but you can also use Maple Extract.  Don’t substitute maple syrup though for the Mapleine or extract in the cookie dough, it won’t give you enough flavor and it will make the cookies too sweet.

How to Make Maple White Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  • In a bowl, combine flour, soda and salt.  Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer with the paddle attachment, cream together the butter and sugars until well blended.
  • Add in eggs and maple flavoring.  Beat until light and creamy.
  • Add in dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Stir in white chocolate chips.
  • Place cookies onto a parchment lined baking sheet, about 3 inches apart and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown around the edges.
  • Cool on a wire rack and then drizzle with maple glaze.

I experimented with several different versions of these cookies and finally hit the jackpot with the final version.  I quickly packaged them up and delivered them to some friends because I knew I would be in trouble if I didn’t.  And I received a text before I even got home from the delivery from my friend saying “beyond perfection.”   Yes, these cookies are good and if you are a maple fan, run, don’t walk to make these cookies!

Tips for Making Maple White Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • Don’t over mix cookie batter. When you over mix it, gluten develops which makes the cookie tougher. You should only mix just until the dry ingredients are incorporated and you can’t see any flour.
  • Don’t over bake your cookies. Over baking cookies causes them to dry out. I like to bake my cookies until they are beginning to turn golden brown the edges and slightly undercooked in the center. Remove them from the oven and let them sit on the cookie sheet as they cool and they will continue to cook a bit more.

How to Make Maple Glaze

The cookie definitely stands on its own but don’t skip the maple glaze.  And be sure and use real maple syrup, not the fake pancake syrup! Be generous with your drizzling too.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I use instead of white chocolate chips?

If you aren’t a fan of white chocolate chips go ahead and add in any kind of chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips or milk chocolate. You could also add in some nuts such as walnuts, pecans or hazelnuts.

What is the best way to measure flour?

I measure my flour by fluffing the flour, then I scoop it into my measuring cup and use a knife to level it off. Using too much flour can also cause a tough, dry cookie.

I know my family will live these, but I can’t get maple flavoring. Do you think I can use real maple syrup instead and if so how much?
    Thanks!! They look delicious!

Maple syrup won’t be as strong a flavor but will work.

These cookies are delicious! Everyone loves them. I’ve made them quite a few times now over the last few years for family gatherings and treats for co-workers. Everyone always asks for the recipe. The combination of white chocolate and maple although sweet is addicting. Love these cookies.
