If you love smoothies for breakfast or as a healthy snack, you will love this delicious Banana Mango Smoothie recipe!
I am a smoothie girl and love starting my day off with a green smoothie. My husband is the green smoothie maker at our house though. He gets up at 4:45 a.m. every morning for work and makes a double or triple batch and leaves me one or two in the refrigerator for breakfast and lunch. Isn’t he a sweetie?
I love to try different combinations of fruit with whatever I happen to have on hand or in the freezer. A few weeks ago I bought a big bag of frozen mango at Costco so I decided to create a banana mango smoothie. I was in the mood for something tropical.
Ingredients Needed
The best thing about a smoothie is you can just figure it out as you go. Use what you have on hand and go by taste! You will need three basic ingredients: juice, yogurt, fruit and some ice.
- Fruit juice: I used pineapple and lime juice.
- Yogurt: I like Greek yogurt but you can use any kind of yogurt.
- Fruit: added in frozen mango and some bananas (they weren’t frozen)
- Ice
How to Make a Smoothie
Just add everything into the blender together and blend until the banana mango smoothie is nice and smooth. If you find it is too thick, add in some extra juice and if it’s not thick enough add in more frozen fruit or ice.
Can I make this smoothie and keep it in the fridge overnight?
Smoothies are definitely best enjoyed the day you make them. I will keep my in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours but they will begin to separate the longer they are in there. Stirring them will bring the ingredients back together. If you are storing it overnight be sure and cover the top.
Can I Freeze a Smoothie?
You! Place smoothie in a freezer safe container with a lid. Before serving, allow to thaw partially in the refrigerator and then place in blender to blend together.

I have a kitchenaid blender that is about 12 years old and ready to retire, so this would be the perfect replacement! I just love frozen mango in my smoothies, I haven’t tried the pineapple juice yet. It sounds delicious 🙂
