Green Chile Rice is the perfect side dish for all of your favorite Mexican dishes. A delicious combination of green chilies, cilantro, and lime.
This green chili rice is a family favorite. It is easy to make, just mix the ingredients together and put it in the oven. The tender rice is full for flavor from the green chilis, lime, and cilantro.
It is a great alternative to Mexican Rice and is also delicious with any grilled meat, chicken, beef or pork.
Ingredients Needed
- Long Grain Rice
- Chicken Broth
- Lime Juice
- Canned Green Chilis, diced
- Cilantro
- Oregano
- Cumin
- Green Onion
Just put all H ingredients, rice, chicken broth, green onion, lime juice, onion, cilantro, seasonings and of course, green chilies into a 9 x 13 pan and bake for an hour for 350 degrees F. After it’s done, give it a stir and a fluff and it’s ready to serve.
How To Make Green Chili Rice
- Mix together all ingredients.
- Pour ingredients into a greased 9 x 13 pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for one hour or until rice is done.
- Stir and fluff with a fork before serving.

Green Chile Rice
Ingredients
- 2 cups long grain rice
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 Tbsp lime juice
- 2 4 oz. cans green chiles diced
- 2/3 cups cilantro chopped
- 2 tsp oregano
- 2 tsp cumin
- 4 green onions sliced
Instructions
- Mix together all ingredients in a greased 9 x 13 pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for one hour or until rice is done.
- Stir and fluff with a fork before serving.

Should the rice be covered with foil for baking? I tried a half recipe and it was dry.
