I have a fun, quick post for you today (we’re running a little crazy around here right now!)
Last week blog reader Bridee emailed me about a sugar cookie tasting contest she had – what a fun idea!
She baked up 4 batches of different types of sugar cookies. She had collected a bunch of sugar cookie recipes from different blogs and wanted to pick a favorite.
Her husband, 5 kids, babysitter and her parents were the judges.
I am proud to announce that the winner of her sugar cookie tasting contest was a recipe she found here at Your Homebased Mom. In fact it is my all time favorite sugar cookie. It is the one I found when I went on a quest to find the perfect sugar cookie!
My friend Melanie over at My Kitchen Cafe sent me the recipe when she heard I was looking for a good sugar cookie recipe. I owe Melanie!
Bridee served hers without frosting for the taste testing but of course everything is even better with frosting!
Go here for the recipe.
Thanks for sharing Bridee!!!

Neat idea! I’m not the least bit surprised your recipe won, every recipe of yours I try always turns out wonderful! Congrats:)
How fun! I’m excited those delicious sugar cookies won out! I get comments from people all the time looking for “the best” sugar cookie. I’ve never thought of having a tasting! Love the idea.
Yes, like I’ve mentioned before, this is by far the best tasting and easiest sugar cookie recipe to make. Thanks to Leigh Anne & Melanie! I’m excited to make them again for Easter!
Those look so darn good! I’ve had almond extract in my cupboards for a while now and I’ve never had any good ideas to use it for.
Way to go Bridee! You are so creative!
I made these sugar cookies with the yummy frosting last week and they were wonderful! It is now my family’s favorite sugar cookie!
Question: Is there really no egg in this recipe? I’ve never seen a recipe for cookies that didn’t call for eggs before.
