Today I wanted to share my Four Steps to Quick & Easy Table Decor idea.  If you are like me I usually spend lots of time planning the menu for my holiday dinner or party to make sure everything is just right, shopping for the food and then lots of time in the kitchen.  I then go to set the table for the meal and realize I have nothing to use as a centerpiece or table decor.  You could always run to the store and pick up a bouquet of flowers but I’ve got a better idea for you.
Step 1: Grab some kind of container – a basket, a wooden tray or a metal tray like mine.  This one came from Goodwill. My friend Marsha was lucky enough to find this beauty and then I was lucky because Marsha decided she didn’t want to store it so I inherited it!  It is now my go to table decor piece!

Step 2:  Select some kind of filler. I used a fall garland I had in my stash. They are available at most craft or fabric stores. You could get branches out of the garden or leaves off the street. At Christmas I like to use branches we cut off the Christmas tree. Get creative and have fun with it. Look to see what you have around your house or in your garden that might work.

Step 3:  Next select some type of decor item. Here I used pumpkins from our garden. Fruits and vegetables work great. Again, get creative. Walk around your house and see what you already own that you could use. I bet you have something. At Christmas I like to add pine cones or ornaments. At Easter I’ve used eggs or little baskets. Pots or vases of flowers also work great. I like to use an odd number of whatever I am using.

Step 4:  Add candles! I just use small mason jars and various other small jars I have that are leftover from jams, jellies and other food items. I never throw away a pretty jar. Tea lights are the perfect size.

The final step is to light the candles and then sit back and enjoy the party!!

I don’t know what it is about candle light but it makes any party or meal seem more pretty and delicious!
