Sharing my 20 Top Books I’ve read in the 10 Past Years
I love sharing the books I read. Lately I have been sharing my yearly lists over on Instagram. Today I wanted to share with you some of my all time favorite books, at least from the last ten years!
Do you keep track of the books you read each year? I’ve been keeping a list since 1998. If you don’t keep a list, you should. I love looking over this list. It’s a lot like visiting old friends. My only regret is I didn’t start sooner.
As I was looking over it recently I decided it might be fun to put together a Top Ten list. My Top Ten Books of the Past Ten Years. It was a little harder to do that I thought it would be. It was like trying to pick just one best friend. So I decided to pick a #1 pick and then a runner up. And thus the list became My Top Twenty Books of the Past Ten Years!

It was a difficult to pick a top book from 2005 because I only read 5 books in 2005 and none of them were that noteworthy. It was a bad year for reading. So I decided to pick a favorite from the years 1998 when I started keeping my list through 2003. Hope that’s o.k!

Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill.
This is a classic and should be read by everyone at least once in their life. Taught me alot about attitude and how I am in control of my own.

This book began my fascination with leper colonies and the desire to go work in one someday.

I am a big fan of WWII historical fiction and any book that takes place in Paris!

I am a big fan of Adriana Trigiani and have read everything she has written. This is one of my favorites of hers.

Love your list, have read a lot of the same novels. Can’t tell if you have read Cane River by Lalita Tademy? If not, I highly recommend it. Also, Midnight In the Garden Of Good And Evil is a good one as well, and is based on a true story in Savannah.

Thank you so much for this list. I started a “list” a couple of years ago and I have also enjoyed looking back. I have read many of these books but the ones I haven’t are now on my wish list! Peace Like a River and The Power of One and also Sotah are a few of my favs. I haven’t made it to all of your years’ lists so maybe they are on there… if not, enjoy!

Hi Leigh Anne,
You have inspired me to start reading again. The only book I’ve read is the first book on your list. Not that I haven’t read in the past 10 or so years, but your list looks way better than what I weed through at work. And I can only read so many self help books. Is there a book you would recommend for my first read off this list?

I’ve enjoyed your website and it’s been great to look over your list of books read and favorites. We’ve read a lot of the same things but I haven’t felt the same, LOL
I belong to several book clubs and it’s been fun to share your lists with them, some of them gave a thumbs up to your top books list. Have you ever read “Me before You” by JoJo Moyes? Enjoyable read and garnered lots of conversation in our monthly meeting.
