One day last week I was having a bit of a pitty party, feeling sorry for myself, life is not fair kind of day. Have you ever had one of those days?
The only solution seemed to be to sit in bed eating an entire pint of Haagen Daz ice cream by myself. I have to admit that ice cream did help! But as I sat there, eating my ice cream and feeling sorry for myself I remember that just weeks ago I was in PARIS! Yes, Paris. How bad can life be when you were recently in PARIS!! So I decided to get out of bed (after I finished my ice cream) and go through my Paris pictures. I then remembered that I had not posted them yet for you so here they are. I hope you enjoy!
I have dreamed about going to Paris since I started taking French in the sixth grade. I’ll just say that my very rusty and old French really wasn’t much help but at least I could read the signs and a menu!!
We started our first day in Paris off early and at the Eiffel Tower – where else would you start your day when you are in Paris! In fact we began and ended our day with the Eiffel Tower when we took a nighttime cruise down the Seine River. It was magical. Did you know that at night, on the hour, the Eiffel Tower twinkles!? Yes, all the lights twinkle and it is so beautiful!!!
The other thing we discovered is that the Eiffel Tower is really big – I mean BIG!
Enjoy a little taste of Paris!

The beautiful view of Sacre Coeur from the top of the Eiffel Tower – does it get any better or any prettier than this!!
And the view down the Champs Elysees…
Just lovely….
The best part of Paris? Getting to share it with this cute girl!
And the view from down below is not too bad either. Did I mention that the Eiffel Tower is HUGE!!!
And Cali had to get her jumping picture in front of the Eiffel Tower.
This time I decided just to stand – not jump!

After a wild and fun day in Paris we ended the day with a beautiful cruise down the Seine River. The Eiffel Tower is even more beautiful and magical at night.
Paris is pretty during the day but is magical and beautiful at night.
Notre Dame isn’t too shabby either at night!

It was the perfect ending to a perfect day in Paris!

More Paris adventures coming soon….

Wow, what awesome photos! I know several people who went to Paris this summer and heard all the stories but never any pictures. Now I really want to go! My favorite is the picture from the Eiffel Tower looking out toward Sacre Coeur. I am a Sacred Heart educated girl and saw many pictures growing up but I never dreamed it that much of a presence in the city.
Glad your pictures gave you a “pick up”, they sure did for me…now, back to cleaning.
What magical pictures! I’ve seen many OF the Eiffel Tower but don’t know if I’ve seen such great ones FROM the tower…thank you for sharing. Someday I want to go to Paris too.
I’m glad to know you are human and have a down day once in awhile, but hope the ice cream made it all go away!
You work so hard to share so many things and give of yourself freely. I want you to know it is SO appreciated. Your many suggestions made our family reunion so much more fun (and our photos so successful). I’ll share more details in an e-mail.
xxoo
Leigh Anne, Sorry you were having a down day–but we’re grateful to know you are human like the rest of us. (Sometimes we start to wonder??) Ice cream cures many things, I do believe. But we are the grateful recipients of gorgeos pictures. The Eiffel Tower is one of my all time favorite places. . . . . .Thanks for sharing with us!
Absolutely stunning pictures!! Sorry about the bad day!
Sorry to hear you had one of ‘those’ kind of days..hate those! I hope posting this made you feel better
. It made me feel to go read it and see your beautiful photos. Yes, the Eiffel Tower is gorgeous at night! Nice photography!
Great job on your night photos of the Tower. Most of mine were blurry because I couldn’t hold the camera still long enough for the amount of light coming into the lens. When I was there, the Tower was lit up blue and had stars on it! I guess they like to mix it up from time to time.
I am excited for my first and probably only trip to Paris in the summer of 2011. I, too, want to take the trip with my young BYU-Provo daughter. She will be my interpreter.
Thanks for your Paris posts!
The best part of our the trip was doing it with my daughter – have fun!
