Cinnamon Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cinnamon Chocolate Chip Cookies

My chocolate chip cookie addiction continues. I just can’t help myself.  I find a new chocolate chip cookie recipe and I just have to try.  Could it possibly be better than my favorite chocolate chip cookie? I was browsing through a fun cookbook the other day and found a recipe for a chocolate chip cookie recipe that used cinnamon.  I was intrigued and decided I must try it.  Truth be told I am not a big fan of spice flavored cookies but the addition of cinnamon into a chocolate chip [Continue Reading...]

Gluten Free Cinnamon Rolls

gluten free cinnamon rolls

While Cali was home visiting it was our church’s semi annual General Conference.  That basically means we get to stay home in our jammies and watch church on TV!  Our family has a tradition of having homemade cinnamon rolls that weekend.  Since cinnamon rolls aren’t normally gluten free I was determined to make some for Cali that were yummy and that Jim and I could enjoy too.  I have experimented with a few cinnamon roll recipes over the last couple of years but usually just end up buying her Udi’s [Continue Reading...]

60 Minute Cinnamon Rolls

60 minute cinnamon rolls

As promised, today I am sharing a recipe for 60 Minute Cinnamon Rolls. Really, they took me 72 minutes to make but 60 minutes sounds so much better.  The extra 12 minutes was the baking time. Seriously, who’s going to argue over 12 minutes when the result is some amazingly good cinnamon rolls!!! I love homemade cinnamon rolls.  What I don’t like is how long they take to make.  I especially love them for breakfast but who wants to get up 2-3 hours before breakfast in order to have hot, [Continue Reading...]

Cinnamon Sugar Breadsticks with Cream Cheese Drizzle

Breadsticks

I have a hard time walking by one of those pretzel places at the mall. The smell alone is enough to stop me in my tracks. My favorite flavor is the pretzel with cinnamon sugar on it and the cream cheese frosting that comes on the side that you can dip your pretzel into – yum! I decided to recreate the taste at home but instead of a pretzel I went with a cinnamon sugar breadstick with cream cheese drizzle. I like the yeasty softness of a breadstick over a [Continue Reading...]

Have you noticed all the fun different flavors of marshmallows that have been around lately? This summer I was buying strawberry, chocolate, caramel, swirl, and coconut. All kinds of deliciousness. This Fall there is a new crop of marshmallow flavors. So far I have seen pumpkin, chocolate mint and my personal favorite cinnamon bun. So what do you do with a bag of cinnamon marshmallows? Make Rice Krispie treats of course!  Cinnamon Rice Krispie Treats are a dressed up version of an old favorite. I change up the traditional Rice [Continue Reading...]

Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon-Rolls

Fall is definitely in the air here in Portland.  It seems like I was just saying summer had just arrived.  Actually, I was.  It was a short summer.  I do love Fall though and I was actually excited to pull out the sweaters, scarves and boots this weekend.  Nothing says Fall better to me than apples, cinnamon and caramel.   So this week I am going to feature recipes that have either apples, cinnamon or caramel or a combination of the three! This past weekend we enjoyed two days of inspiration [Continue Reading...]

Snickerdoodles – and a variation on a theme

snickerdoodles

Several years ago I referred to my snickerdoodle recipe in a post but never posted it.  I continue to get requests for the recipe so I figured it was about time I posted it.  I made them this week and played around with the recipe a bit – some variations on a theme. I have made a lot of snickerdoodles in my time.  I think snickerdoodles are soley responsible for my son Clark and his friends hanging out at our house during high school – they loved my snickerdoodles and [Continue Reading...]
