Candy Corn Kettle Corn

Candy Corn Kettle Corn

One of my favorite smells at the local Farmer’s Market or fair is the smell of Kettle Corn being made.  I simply can’t resist it! You are going to make your kettle corn the old fashion way.  On top of the stove [Continue Reading…]

Pumpkin Donuts

Donut Pumpkins

I am a big fan of Halloween and even though my husband and I are now empty nesters we celebrate up big.  Since I no longer have children at home to plan costumes for I have talked my husband into dressing up with me for Halloween.  He’s a good guy.  Last year I got him to be Popeye! You can see some of our past costumes here.   I’ll be unveiling this year’s couple costume on September 26th! Each year we host a Halloweenie Roast for our neighbor kids.  It is [Continue Reading…]

I wanted the new Halloween Popcorn to look Halloweenie so I figured I [Continue Reading…]

Trick or Treat – Top Tips for Making Caramel Apples

caramel apples

Last week for a youth activity at church we made caramel apples.  That was the first time I had made caramel apples in 12 years. You see the last time I made caramel apples – this is what happened…. Yes – my sweet, then 7 year old daughter bit into one of the caramel apples and it ripped a tooth right out of her mouth.  The tooth was not even loose!  Yikes! I am not sure what recipe I used but I think I threw it away right then and there.  [Continue Reading…]
