Ingredients

lbs.
fresh green beans
trimmed
1/2
C
pecan halves
toasted

Tbsp
butter
1/3
C
red onion
chopped

Tbsp
packed light brown sugar
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Cook beans in a 6-8 quart pot of salted, boiling water until tender, about 5-8- minutes.
Drain water and run under cold water immediately.
Heat butter in skillet over moderate heat.
Add in red onion and cook until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
Reduce heat and add iin sugar, stir to dissolve.
Add in pecans and stir for 1-2 minutes.
Add in green beans and saute until heated through, about 2-4 minutes.
Salt and pepper to taste.
