Sift flour; baking powder and salt together; combine the two mixtures, blend thoroughly and spread in a lightly greased 9 x 13 pan
Sprinkle with nuts, chocolate chips chips and marshmallows over the batter
Beat 2 egg whites stiff, fold in brown sugar and spread over top of cookie base
Bake 30-40 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and cut into bars
Notes
If you are fan of nuts in your baked goods, you can sprinkle a cup of chopped nuts on top of the cookie base along with the chocolate chips and marshmallows. You could also chop up the nuts and include them in with the cookie base if you prefer.
These bars are the best the day they are made and are amazing warm, fresh out of the oven. They are good the next day but by far the best the day they are made. Because of the meringue top they do not freeze well or travel well.
