Berry Crepes Recipe
I recently hosted book club at my home and that means I am in charge of treats too. It is always fun to try and match the treats to the book we are discussing. We recently read the book Swan House by Elizabeth Musser. Part of the story takes place in France, so I served one of my favorite French treats, crepes.
To make it extra fun, I set up a pretty little crepe bar so all of my book club guests could choose their favorite crepe ingredients.
Can I Make Crepes Ahead?
I made the crepes the night before using my favorite crepe recipe. I just put a piece of wax paper between each crepe and then wrapped them in plastic wrap to keep them from sticking to each other and drying out. Crepes are a great make ahead recipe when you are hosting a large group.
What to Put in a Crepe
We filled the crepes with a creamy cream cheese filling and a selection of fresh berries. For other ideas for filling your crepe check out this post.
I had three different kinds of berries to choose from including blueberries, raspberries and strawberries which are always a crown favorite.
Also, you can’t have a crepe bar without delicious lemon curd, raspberry curd and Nutella.
I also added in a bowl of whipped cream that could be used to top off the crepe.
And even more berries to top the crepes with.
How to Make Berry Crepes
If you have never made crepes before, don’t be afraid. They are very easy to make and you don’t need a fancy crepe pan. I make my crepes in my cast iron skillet. I even have a post with directions on how to make crepes.
- Place crepe on a plate.
- Add cream cheese filling or whipped cream down the middle of the crepe.
- Top with berries.
- Fold your crepe according to the directions found here
- Top with additional whipped cream and berries.
