We are big into “bowls” at our house. Layering all kinds of yummy ingredients into one bowl for a meal.This time I used one of my favorite kitchen helpers – Kraft Recipe Makers. I have shared how much I love them here and here before.
I am still just as much in love with this fun new product from Kraft as I was before. Kraft Recipe Makers makes dinner time not only easy but makes it delicious using fresh ingredients. I love how they break it down into a formula. Each of the 9 Recipe Makers comes with two sauces – the simmering sauce and the finishing sauce. It then also recommends the use of a protein, a grain and a vegetable. The Tex-Mex Chicken Fajita from Kraft Recipe Makers also adds in some cheese for a little dairy. Easy to follow step-by-step directions are on the box; just cook your protein in half of the simmering sauce and add in your veggies with the rest of the simmering sauce and then end with your finishing sauce. The recipe on the box calls for quick cooking rice that is cooked right in with the chicken mixture but I only had the old fashioned kind so I cooked my rice first and then filled the bottom of my bowl with the rice. I then layered all my other ingredients on top of the rice – first the chicken mixture, then some cheese and a few other ingredients I thought sounded good – cilantro, pumpkin seeds and a few slices of avocado as garnish. You’ve got a complete dinner in a bowl! Not only is it delicious but the clean-up is so easy with this recipe!

Tex-Mex Chicken Fajita Bowls
- 1 cup Fajita Chicken
- 1 cup of rice uncooked
- 1 C grated cheese
- 1 green pepper diced
- 1 red onion diced
- 2 chicken breasts diced
- cilantro chopped
- pumpkin seeds for garnish
- avocado slices
- Cook chicken along with sauces according to directions on box.
- Add in veggies
- Cook rice
- Layer bowl with rice and then cooked chicken mixture
- Garnish with cheese, cilantro, pumpkin seeds and avocado
