I just have to say that bloggers are some of the best people I know! I was emailing back and forth with Kim of Today’s Creative Blog last week and mentioned I was headed out of town to my father in law’s funeral. She asked right away if she couldn’t help me out with a guest post and I was so grateful! I was able to head out of town, and not worry about today’s post. So I am excited to introduce you to Kim. If you aren’t familiar with her blog be sure and check it out. I’m loving the yummy recipe she shared for Biscoff Honey Almond Yogurt Granola Parfait!
I am thrilled to be hanging out on Home Based Mom today sharing a few last minute tips on how to perk up your patio. Living in the PNW (yes, Leigh Anne and I live in the same area, but have yet to meet IRL) we soak up every last drop of sunshine, using our patios as much as possible before the rain starts in.
I recently shared a few simple and inexpensive ways to Perk up Your Patio on our local AMNW Morning show. These DIY ideas are quick and easy using every day household items.
Outdoor Place mats
You will love how easy it is to make these DIY Outdoor Place mats. And inexpensive!
I grabbed a few rolls of cabinet liner from my local Dollar store and simply cut a long enough section as a place mat. To decorate the corner, cut out several sized circles in coordinating colors, layering them to make a whimsical flower. I glued them together using craft glue, then glued them to a piece of round cardstock…….with the mat between the cardstock and flower. (that way you don’t have glue ooozing out the back side of your mat)
Simple, fast and cute! Portable too……for picnics.
I LOVE my outdoor mason jar solar lights! LOVE! They are probably the easiest project I’ve ever done. Remember……..I love easy! Click here to see how to make your own. I even share how I made my own DIY Mercury glass.
Thinking outside the box. As one of the Lowes Creative Team members, we were given a challenge to make outdoor art. Well taking the easy way, You’ll never believe what I used. It looks great and so far no one has tried wiping their feet on my wall.
This will change your life! I used drop clothes for my downstairs patio to create privacy and warmth. Yes I did! And it was much more inexpensive than buying “real” outdoor drapes.
