This savory garlic parmesan petal bread is delicious and so easy to make with frozen bread dough.

Garlic Parmesan Petal Bread

Last October I shared with you a yummy Sweet Petal Cinnamon Roll.  It is a totally fun and delicious version of a cinnamon roll.  Not only is it delicious but it is just fun to eat.

I decided that a savory version would be just as delicious and fun to eat and I was right!

Garlic Parmesan Petal Bread

I decided to make this version a bit easier and use frozen bread dough instead of making my dough from scratch.  But if you’d like some extra work you can definitely make the dough from scratch.  Use your favorite bread or roll recipe or use the dough recipe from the Sweet Petal Cinnamon Roll Recipe.  It’s a good one.  But let me tell you, using frozen bread dough was easy and no one even knew I hadn’t made the dough from scratch!

Garlic Parmesan Petal Bread

I used 14 frozen dinner rolls and let them thaw.  Then just roll each roll into a 7-8 inch long piece.  Dip the dough into melted butter and then a mixture of powdered parmesan cheese (the stuff that comes in the green can), garlic salt and some oregano.  Start in the middle of your pan.  I used my 12 inch cast iron pan.  Love that pan!  If you don’t have one you must get one.  I use mine all the time.

Garlic Parmesan Petal Bread

Just keep adding your dough to the middle piece until the whole pan is full.

Garlic Parmesan Petal Bread

If it doesn’t totally fill the whole pan, don’t worry.  The dough is going to rise and fill in the extra space.

Garlic Parmesan Petal Bread

Next, just cover it with a towel and let it rise until it is about doubled in size.  I was in a rush so I didn’t let mine double.  It will rise more as it bakes so it will be fine, I promise.

Garlic Parmesan Petal Bread

Just bake it until it is nice and golden brown and cooked through. About 15-20 minutes.  Mine raised more in the middle than the sides so it was browning quicker in the middle so I just covered the middle section with a piece of foil for the last five minutes or so, so it would brown evenly.

Garlic Parmesan Petal Bread

I like to serve it right from the cast iron pan.  Just put it in the middle of the table and let everyone tear off a piece or two, or three or four.

Garlic Parmesan Petal Bread

Like I said it is as fun to eat as it is delicious!

What a fun idea! I have a feeling I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from eating this and I can only imagine how good the bread would be dipped into soup.

That is exactly why I had to give most of it away – so I didn’t eat it all!!

We just love home made bread. Great way to sell a house, always have some baking in the oven when prospective purchasers are due to visit. Thanks for the recipe.
