Our family was famous yesterday, for about 15 minutes. We were actually on the front page of The Oregonian.
For the last 27 years we have taken our children to see Santa at a department store downtown, as far as my children were and are concerned he is the “real” Santa. I’ve written about it here on blog.
Well the store is making some changes in the Santas they are using, no longer using a naturally bearded Santa and it has made quite the news story in Portland the last few days. I left a comment on a Facebook page in regards to the situation and a reporter saw it and called me. I did a phone interview, sent her a few photos and we showed up on the front page of The Oregonian today.
If you’d like to check out the article here is a link. A couple of the local TV shows picked up the story and it was on the noon news on Channel 8 and then yesterday afternoon I was contacted by Channel 12 and asked if a reporter could come over and interview me – like right now! I said sure and started picking up a little of the Christmas mess I had strewn all over my house. The interview was on the 10 o’clock news last night. So there you have it, my 15 minutes of fame! I guess that’s what happens when you are a crazy mother and make your children go see the same Santa for 27 years!!!
