I am a lover of words!
I have shared with you before many of the words I have around my house. Words that help me stay focused on what is really important – words of inspiration.
Last week I spent four days in COLD Minnesota. It actually got to 30 BELOW ZERO with the wind chill one day!! One of the highlights of my trip was spending some time with my friend Susan in her beautiful and warm home on the banks of the frozen and snowy Mississippi River.
As Susan took me on a tour through her home I began to notice that Susan is also a lover of words. Throughout her home she had many words of inspiration. Because abundance is another of my favorite words I loved this piece of artwork!
and then there was this one….
Susan had words of inspiration scattered everywhere.
On the dining room table….
in the guest bedroom….
in the bathroom….
and the windowsill….
In fact her husband asked her if they could have some art work in the house that didn’t tell him what to do! My friend Sherra calls it “bossy art!”
Besides scattering words of inspiration around my house I like to wear my word!

My word would be “Endure” because some days it is all I can do. If I can endure to the end…I will have peace.
You have really made me think today. What one word can I use to describe what I want to do this year. I think Relax. I shouldn’t sweat the small stuff. Go with the flow. Keep moving forward. (being the mother of an adopted son who has FAS and everyday is a challenge I need to remember to “Relax”.)
Our family’s word for the year is “Joy.” We’ve asked them to remember, Jesus, Others, Yourself.

Like you, my word is JOY. I just recently read an article about finding joy in the journey. I think that was good for me. I need to remember to find joy in every day.
I have so many words to choose from that I would want. My top three are “Gratitude”, “Grace” and “Faith”. I am a word lover as well and love the idea of “bossy art”. I think I need some in my home!!!
My word for 2009 is grace.
My word for the year is “Create”! It is what I love to do… be it Graphic Design, a craft project, a new recipe I come up with –as long as I can “Create” I am truly happy!

Oh wow, beautiful necklace! My 2009 word is LESS but I think if I got the necklace I would put STRENGTH on it- I need so much of that to achieve some of the goals that I have (concerning the LESS!)
Love those words. I only have a few around my house and they mostly have to do with my cats. I breed Abyssinians. My favorite cat saying is “when all else fails, pet the cat” and i do. My word for 2009 is “believe”. I want to believe all good things are possible and that we are on a path to a better place. This word conjures up my favorite Christmas design which is a Santa with the word “believe” all in bright colors. Since we’ve just come thru the holidays this word has been on my mind. Believe!
I would have to go with the word JOY, also! It can be tricky to find joy daily. If I had a second word it would be SEASON. There is a season for everything. A necklace would be a good reminder of what my “season” is right now, and that your season is always changing. Finding joy in the season we are in is what it is all about!
It would be a toss up for me. I think I would love to see a necklace with Trust. It would remind me to trust God and not sweat the little things–or the big things either. My other new word is FLY. I am striving to Finally Love Yourself in all aspects of my life including the chaos in my home–which I am systmatically working through.
After reading all the wonderful words, mine would Reckless. To remind me to recklessly love my kids, love my husband, be reckless in being grateful!
