I am a lover of words!
I have shared with you before many of the words I have around my house. Words that help me stay focused on what is really important – words of inspiration.
Last week I spent four days in COLD Minnesota. It actually got to 30 BELOW ZERO with the wind chill one day!! One of the highlights of my trip was spending some time with my friend Susan in her beautiful and warm home on the banks of the frozen and snowy Mississippi River.
As Susan took me on a tour through her home I began to notice that Susan is also a lover of words. Throughout her home she had many words of inspiration. Because abundance is another of my favorite words I loved this piece of artwork!
and then there was this one….
Susan had words of inspiration scattered everywhere.
On the dining room table….
in the guest bedroom….
in the bathroom….
and the windowsill….
In fact her husband asked her if they could have some art work in the house that didn’t tell him what to do! My friend Sherra calls it “bossy art!”
Besides scattering words of inspiration around my house I like to wear my word!

hmmm. my first thought is HOPE but I think I would really like Gratitude. We have a Gratitude Journal that we write in every night with our little ones. We’re trying to teach them young to be grateful. It seems Gratitude and Hope go hand in hand. Gratitude to recognize the things you have and Hope to move forward and make life better. Or something like that. I really do have a way with words! (sounds better in my head, I’m sure someone out there gets me!)

How beautiful! I would love one with the word Praise! When I remember to praise the Lord in all things it is hard to dwell in the sorrow of things around me.
One question Where did your friend get those pictures you showed with Abundance and Gratitude on them. I love them!!!
The jewelry is just beautiful! I would have the word ‘Cherish’ inscribed on the piece as a reminder to STOP and take the time to cherish every moment with my girls.
My word is also Joy. Finding joy in my family, myself, the day-to-day of life.
i dont live in the US.. im actually from canada but i just wanted to let you know that i absolutely LOVE your blog. im single and live on my own. i have used a ton of your recipies and again LOVE them. i have recently lost my job of 10 years and am starting school all over again at the age of 27. so if i lived in the US and was able to win my word would be “OPORTUNITIES”

I love it! I think my word would be “peace” because even when everything is in upheavel in my life, I’m fine as long as I have peace.

I love the idea of choosing a word to focus on during the year. I’ve been thinking a lot about it lately and it’s so hard to choose just one. But, I think I have decided on “nurture”. There are a lot of things in my life right now that need nurturing, including myself! Thanks for the great idea and the great give-aways!

My word is LAUGHTER. I can’t imagine my life without it! It makes my soul happy to laugh and have found that it is my saving grace when life gets tough. If I couldn’t find the humor in things I’m not sure what kind of person I would be, but my guess is that I wouldn’t be very happy.

I love these beautiful necklaces. I would have to choose between two words: hope, and family. Hope because my father in law has cancer and we can only hope for the best. Family because they are everything to me. What a great way to be reminded of the important things by a simple word.

Focus… I’m easily distracted and my plan is to focus on a few priorities for 2009
Content or Contentment…. not complacent but content with what I have and who I am, knowing I really have all I need and any additional is just a bonus.
Amazing…I used to whisper in my baby’s ear “You are amazing” over and over. She was battling a stage 4 cancer at the time and is has now been off treatment for almost 3 years
My word would be “Relax” the Lord is in charge!
My word is most definitely “Dedicate”. At least that is what I am trying to make of this year, to be dedicated to all things GOOD.
I would definitely want one that says STORY or THRIVE. I hope I win!
But whether or not I win, I think I want to buy some of these for my leaders. After your post about One Word, I had them all come up with a word for themselves for the year and we shared them on a conference call. I have been thinking for a few days about what my word should be for the year. I keep coming back to “JOY” also, so I guess it’s what it must be! I love the idea of being able to “wear it”! Such a pretty piece of jewelry! Great giveaway – thanks for offering!

My word is ‘Courage’. Last year proved to be the most difficult year I’ve ever had..so I’m praying for courage this year to be strong and to persevere.

Only one word! Hmmm, that’s a difficult one. I can think of so many that mean so much. But I think CHERISH is my word. Cherish family and friends as if you may not have them tomorrow.

I LOVE having words/phrases around my house, they are a great way to have constant reminders to your entire family of things that matter most, day in and day out.
Deciding on one word is a hard one but I think I have narrowed mine down to DREAM, because you can only accomplish the extent of your dreams…so dream big! Glad I stumbled upone your blog today!

My word would be REMEMBER, as it reminds me of so much: “Remember who you are, remember what’s most important in life, remember to get on your knees and pray, remember to be grateful and good, remember the little people in your life, remember God’s in charge” and on and on! It’s a great concept, this one word reminder. I think mine would be ENJOY. I spend too much time fretting over things to remember to be involved.
That is so hard to think of just one word, but I guess mine would have to be LOVE. Very pretty things!
My word for 2009 is “savor”.
My word would probably be Dance! It reminds me to not worry about the storm to be thankful for the rain!! Just look for something good in all situations, because if you look hard enough you will find it.
