I am so excited to be able to offer this great giveaway being sponsored by You Can Make This! As I mentioned in the previous post I met Kim and Kris who started the site at a conference in September.
Their site is a library of hundreds of down-loadable patterns you can purchase for anything from an apron to a beaded necklace or how to bake a pie! It’s just like a virtual home ec class. I loved using the pattern for the reversible headbands – so easy to use and understand!
In these hard economic times, people are becoming more and more interested in Do It Yourself (DIY). This is especially true with Christmas coming up and people wanting to make some of their gifts.
All the instructions for the down-loadable patterns are written by everyday moms who have an expertise in an area. They are written in a way that makes you feel you have a friend sitting right next to you, telling you what to do next. They all have detailed instructions and step-by-step pictures so even someone who has never made these before, can do so for their homes and families.
Kim and Kris have graciously donated $50.00 worth of down-loadable patterns for a giveaway to one of my blog readers! You will receive patterns for all of the following darling items!! If you are not a sewer or crafter yourself, now may be a great time to learn or you can give them as a gift to a friend!

This site sounds wonderful. Thanks for sharing!
Oh I would love this. As a mother of 3 girls, I really need to jump on the bandwagon and learn to sew so I can teach them.
my twelve year old would love this …she is much more craftier than her mother…
How wonderful! I’ve been trying to figure out if I can rework a coat (looks like I’m wearing a sack), but need to start with something more basic. That site looks like a great place to start.
So cute. I also had a Mother who tried to teach me how to sew, but I didn’t catch the “bug”. So, I will definitely be taking a look at this website!

What an awesome website! I can’t wait to try some of those patterns. Thanks for the fun giveaway!
Excellent blog – I loved reading your story. I love everything on you can make this. com. My mother still doesn’t know how to nor want to sew. I’m mostly self taught. Congratulations to whomever wins, though I’d love for it to be me. :<)
Great article. We love YCMT.com! My daughter is just getting into sewing also and we are having so much fun together. It is great bonding time.
I’m so glad you highlighted this site – I’ve never heard about it but I already know I am going to be spending a lot of time looking around. How fun! Thanks, Leigh Anne.
I’ve been looking at apron patterns and can’t decide. A free one would make it easy!!LOL
This has ME written all over it. Your website LeighAnne has transformed me into a cook! If I can see a picture, I can do it. Now these projects will not only give me a picture of what to do, but directions? Count me in!
Great giveaway! These sewing projects look really fun!
I’ve been trying to teach my girls to sew for the last few years…. I love these fun, doable projects! Thanks for sharing!
I guess I need to get my sewing machine out and start trying some of these things. They all look like it would be fun to try to make any of these. I really like the wrap a round skit and I would like the hand bag for sure. thanks for another give away, but my chance of winning is very unlikly but I may just to go and buy the pattern.
I have a three little granddaughters if you need one to make a pattern for. Just let us know I have a 7 year old and a 4 years and a 16 month old.
I just started to teach myself to sew and would love more projects to create. Thanks for filling us in on this site!
Wonderful!! I have two little girls, and I’m just starting to try to sew things for them. Crossing my fingers!!
Too cute! I’d love to win some patterns! I’m like you, a seamstress whose daughter did NOT learn how to sew. I tried! Wish you would have been around when she was younger Leigh Anne!
Thanks for relating your story! I’m now feeling so much less guilty for not teaching my girls how to sew. At least they know how to COOK!
I haven’t sewed anything in ages but I’m sure excited to start after seeing the YCMT website. Thanks for letting us know about it.
What a wonderful website. . . . .I’d love to win! THANKS!
How exciting! I just got my mom’s sewing machine and am beginning sewing lessons. What a great gift this would be!
I love that website! They have such interesting ideas- and easy to understand directions! Even I can figure them out! Love the headbands!!!
Darn it, I was hoping there would be less entries! lol. This one was made for me! Santa brought me a sewing machine this year and it’s sitting under my tree with a big red bow on it. I know how to *use* a sewing machine (as in thread it etc), but it’s been years since I’ve done it, and to be honest, I don’t really know how to sew, lol. So I’m SEW (haha) excited to go check out that website. That’s exactly what I need. Here’s me sending subliminal messages over the internet- pick me pick me pick me! lol.
They look cute. It’s always fun to win something.
