I have lived here most of my life. We try to get the beach as much as we can. I have so many memories of walking on the sugar white sand of Siesta Key with my Mom & Dad. When I was kid my parents got togeither with the neighbors and created The Beach group. We had breakfast, lunch and lots of fun at Siesta. Now I have a family of my own and we go to Lido Beach. My daughter is a mermaid and loves the waves. My son is a little more of a shore bird. Last Sunday we built a sea turtle and decorated his shell with shells. I think the memories of those moments are so strong because we are there in the moment, relaxed and having fun. I have a goal to go to beaches all around the globe. Being a young family with pets makes travel difficult. So for now we visit diffrent beaches around us. Last summer we went to Sanibel Island a 45minute drive. The best shells we have ever found were on Sanibel. Recently we went to a beach in Venice, Fl. that is known for there shark teeth. My son wouldn't dip a toe in the water. He couldn't seperate the teeth from the sharks. My husband and daughter went way out and dived. My husband surfaced with a megladon tooth. My daughter was so impressed with her Dad. That's no cottage honey ;) You guys will make so many fun memories there- and I will live vicariously through them, so you better blog a lot from the beach! I will definatly be visiting here daily! So, reading through your posts, I especially enjoyed this one. Since I was a little girl (26 now) I too have always dreamed of a cottage on a lake. I remember fond fond memories of visitng the lake when I was young and have always longed for a quiant refuge to decorate, enjoy and relax at. I was so encouraged by your post about speaking forth your dreams. But I also have to tell you how encouraged I was by reading other people's dreams. Two in particular - your's about going to England and the gal who mentioned wanting a 90's pickup truck. See, I have those two things in my life. My husband actually wants to move us to England for a year (and also make yearly trips there). And, I don't want to with every fiber of my being. I don't want to visit - not even for a day! And with the 90's pickup truck - we have one. And I would do anything to get a different vehicle. I can't even begin to tell you what a thorn in my side this truck has been. But as I read that these were other's desires and dreams, wow, it put so much in perspective to me. That I truly am blessed. These things that I don't want...well...that is someone else's dream. So though that may not have been the original intention of your post, to me, so much was really put into perspective. Be thankful for each and every opportunity you are given and each blessing (though it may not feel it) that God has put in your path. Thanks for the inspiration. Sorry such a loooonnnngggg comment! What an amazing house, your dream come true is very inspirational! I would like to live near my sister in Adelaide, Australia. This would mean that my dream of sharing my children with my family could come true. I have four children (the oldest is 10) who have only seen their grandfather once, and their grandmother a handful of times! It is my greatest sadness that we are so far from family.
