Make Ahead Parkerhouse Rolls

_DSC0609

One of the requirements for any holiday dinner at our house is homemade rolls.  Hot, fresh, yeasty, right out of the oven parkerhouse rolls. The only problem with homemade rolls on a holiday is how much time they take.  Making the dough, let it rise, form the roll, let it rise, bake.  It takes some time and if all you were making is homemade rolls that wouldn’t be so bad but you are making an entire, huge holiday dinner also!! Today’s recipe will hopefully make that holiday meal prep a little [Continue Reading…]

Cheese & Garlic Rolls

Herb & Cheese Rolls

So I may have mentioned a time or two here on the blog how much I like fresh baked bread in any form.  Maybe. Well today I am going to mention it again.  I love fresh baked bread, especially fresh baked Cheese & Garlic Rolls. Sundays seem to be my day of choice for bread baking.  After we go to church we stay home for the rest of the day.  I love Sundays.  It truly is a day of rest from the busyness and cares of the rest of the [Continue Reading…]

Pretzel Rolls

Pretzel Rolls

I am a big fan of bread.  I also love a big soft pretzel like they sell in the mall. So I decided, why not combine the two into a pretzel rolls recipe.  There is a restaurant in Portland that has amazing soft pretzels that come with a yummy cheese dip.  I thought that I would just add the cheese into the pretzel rolls and see what happened.   Three of my favorite things – bread, pretzels and cheese all in one. Although these rolls are more bread than pretzel the [Continue Reading…]

Butter Rolls

So how are your Easter menu plans shaping up?  We’ve been invited to some friends for dinner and when we were discussing the menu I told her I would bring the rolls.  She said we didn’t really need rolls.  I tried not to gasp into the phone.  Not need rolls?  Having Easter dinner without rolls at our house is almost against our religion. Traditionally, my mom is the roll maker at our house and in fact, if you asked her friends what one recipe my mom is most known [Continue Reading…]

I was beginning to think that this post was just not meant to be. Last Sunday I made up a batch of rolls.  They turned out perfect.  They tasted wonderful and they looked beautiful.  They raised  perfectly and were golden brown.  The photos were lovely. Then I got a little over zealous with my camera.  I not only deleted the photos, I totally erased my memory card before I downloaded the pictures.  I was so sad. But it was a great excuse to make another batch of rolls.  They tasted [Continue Reading…]

30 Minute Rolls

thirty Minute Rolls

I’ve lost track of how many times I have made these rolls in the last few months.  Let’s just say it’s been a lot. And everytime I’ve made them everyone has asked “Is this recipe on the blog?”  I have been promising and promising it would be so now it is. I found this recipe over at my friend Laura’s blog – Real Mom Kitchen. Believe it or not these rolls only take 30 minutes to make.  Start to finish.  Really!  And they are a yeast roll.  The other thing [Continue Reading…]
