Wedding Cake Buffet

I have been so excited to share this post with you. This event was so fun to do and I love the way it turned out but I wanted to wait until I had shared all of my Europe trip with you.  Just too many fun things happening around here. The weekend after we returned from Europe we hosted a wedding open house at our home for a young man that my husband has mentored for the last 15 years or so. James was married in Florida in April and [Continue Reading…]

Clark & Jessica's Wedding Day

Today I am excited to share with you some photos from my son’s wedding in Arizona last weekend.  It was a beautiful and magical weekend and a hot one. I think the temperatures hit 115 degrees and as a result there weren’t many pictures taken outside! Clark and Jessica were married for time and all eternity in this beautiful and sacred building – the LDS Mesa Temple. Here are the bride and groom coming out of the temple! Mr. & Mrs. Wilkes!  Jessica made a gorgeous bride.  As pretty as [Continue Reading…]

The Wedding Planner, Part 4

The Wedding Planner, Part 1

Over the next week or so I am excited to share with you some photographs and details from the wedding of a friend’s daughter.  This is Andrea’s second daughter to get married so she’s getting to be a wedding expert! I read a lot of wedding blogs and I am always blown away by the amazingly beautiful things I see.  Most of them are put together by professional wedding planners and designers.  So beautiful but for the majority of us just not in our budget. When I saw the photos [Continue Reading…]

Good Water/Lemon Water

good water

Good Water also known as lemon water is the beverage we served at the wedding reception I recently helped with.  I have no idea why it is called Good Water other than the fact that it is good! I am guessing it earned that name when people started asking,  “Is that the good water?” We served regular water and Good Water at the reception.  The Good Water has a wonderful, light lemon flavor. It is made using lemon extract and citric acid. According to Wikipedia, citric acid is a weak [Continue Reading…]

The Wedding

You have heard me talk a lot about “the wedding” in the last few weeks as I have experimented with and shared with you different cupcake recipes.  The wedding was for the son of a good friend of mine.  Her son is also a good buddy of my son Clark – they played Lacrosse together in high school, roomed together their freshman year of college and played college Lacrosse together.  I figured helping with the wedding was good practice for the day that one of my children eventually gets married! Here [Continue Reading…]
