Last week I hosted book club at my home which means I am in charge of serving refreshments after our book discussion. I loved the book we read this month.  In fact, I think it may be my favorite book I have read so far this year.  We read the book Swan House by Elizabeth Musser.  The person who presented the book had actually purchased the book in the gift shop of the Swan House in Atlanta, Georgia.  The house is a real place but the story is fiction based [Continue Reading...]

I am lucky enough to live in the beautiful NorthWest! One of the perks this time of year is amazing berries. Whether I pick them from the berry patch in my own backyard, at the nearby U-Pick farm or purchase them at our local Farmer’s Market we can’t seem to get enough! I am excited to share with you a delicious dessert that is perfect for this time of year. It is perfect because it is the one time of year I can buy fresh strawberries, raspberries and cherries all [Continue Reading...]

Raspberry and Blueberry Crisp

One thing the Northwest does right is berries! You name it – we’ve got it. Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, marionberries, tayberries and even loganberries. And I know there are more I haven’t even named. My oldest son’s name is Logan – I teased my husband I wanted to name him after my father Barrie – therefore he would have been Logan Barrie (loganberry) He didn’t go for it! Yesterday I shared a fun Mason Jar Picnic idea and the dessert I took on the picnic was today’s recipe for Raspberry [Continue Reading...]

Raspberry Streusel Bars

Raspberry Streusel Bars

We are in the midst of berry season here in Oregon and I am a happy woman. I am lucky enough to have several U-pick berry farms within a few miles of my home and I’ve been spending some serious time there lately. Strawberries, raspberries, marionberries, boysenberries and next week I’ll be picking blueberries. Pretty lucky aren’t I?! Thanks to those berry farms these Raspberry Streusel Bars made an appearance at my house last week. It was my baby’s 19th birthday and I wanted to send some treats with her [Continue Reading...]

Layered Salad with Raspberry Poppyseed Dressing

Layered Chicken & Berry Salad

We are trying to take full advantage of berry season here in the Northwest by adding berries into every recipe we can.  Desserts, breakfast, appetizers, main dishes and salads.  I’ve been doing  a pretty good job of it if I do say so myself.  Is it possible to get berried out?  I don’t think so! I’ve got lots of fun berry recipes coming up. But if you have already forgotten, I am sharing dinner recipes this week that can be made from a rotisserie chicken – quick and easy summer [Continue Reading...]

Raspbery Cream Cupcakes

I first made today’s recipe a few years ago for a woman’s event at church.  We made about 200 of these little pretties. I had actually almost forgotten about them until I decided to clean out my massive recipe collection (pile) last week and I found it.  I knew immediately that they would be perfect for Valentine’s Day.  I also decided to make them for my YHM101 Class I held this week at my home.  The women loved them and I promised the recipe! The recipes uses a cake [Continue Reading...]

Raspberry Ice Cream

To continue with the berry theme we have going here this week today’s recipe uses raspberries. We used marionberries in the berry cobbler and then there were the blueberries too.  We’ve been eating a lot of berries around here.  We just went peach picking yesterday so guess what recipes you’ll be seeing next week! Cali and her friends went raspberry picking this week (it was one of the things on their Summer To Do list this year) and they decided they wanted to make raspberry ice cream. The raspberries are [Continue Reading...]
