Candy Corn Hot CHocolate Stirrer

So it is that time of year.  Candy Corn time!  It seems like everywhere you look on Pinterest someone has made their version of candy corn something.  I know I’ve done my fair share of candy corn  treats.  I couldn’t let candy corn season go buy this year without another one.  How about some candy corn hot chocolate on a stick! How cute is this!  The best part is, it tastes yummy too.  I had a little too much fun photographing these cute little things so excuse the photo overload [Continue Reading...]

Thin Mints Hot Chocolate

One thing I am unable to say no to?  A cute little Girl Scout selling Girl Scout cookies.  I was a Brownie and a Girl Scout and my mother was my leader – wasn’t I cute? My girls were also Brownies and Girl Scouts and I was their leader so I have a special place in my heart for the program and I can never turn away a Girl Scout ringing my door bell selling cookies.  When I had a lot of little Girl Scouts in my neighborhood I had [Continue Reading...]

Halloween Hot Chocolate

Halloween Hot Chocolate

I think fall may be over here in the NW and we’ve gone right into winter. My husband joked that he needed to go out and build an ark in our backyard which is very quickly turning into a lake due to all the rain we have had this week – 4 inches in 2 days. On a cold, blustery winter like day nothing is better than a cup of hot chocolate. We aren’t coffee drinkers at our house but we are big hot chocolate drinkers. I am also a [Continue Reading...]

{Giveaway Closed} Congratulations to Comment #51 Shawn Ricks! Today I get to share with you a fun little cookbook put together by my friend Laura of Real Mom Kitchen.  Laura is one of the very first bloggers I met in person.  She was so sweet to me and let me tag along with her and her sister all day at the blogging conference we were attending. When Laura asked me to review her new Warm Up Your Winter Cookbook featuring hot chocolate and cider recipes I told her I’d love [Continue Reading...]

This week I had my Activity Day girls over for our twice a month activity.  Activity Day girls are the girls aged 8-12 at church and I am lucky enough to get to play with them twice a month as my church job!  Best job in the whole church. I’ll share more about our book review and book mark making activity this weekend but I also put together a Valentines Day Hot Chocolate Bar.  How fun is that! I have shared the idea with you before but had only done [Continue Reading...]

The weekend before Valentine’s Day – are you ready?  If you are still looking for a fun little treat to take to teachers, friends or neighbors, I’ve got it for you. One of my favorite flavor combinations is chocolate and malt.  I love it in cookies, ice cream – just about anything you put chocolate in is only made better with a little malt, in my [Continue Reading...]

Breakfast with Santa

Our annual Breakfast with Santa that we host for some of our neighbors was last Saturday.  This event has turned into one of my favorite Christmas traditions. When my children outgrew going to Breakfast with Santa at Meier & Frank but I hadn’t, I decided to host my own Breakfast with Santa and invite the neighbor kids! The menu is always the same (it makes it easy): Buttermilk Pancakes with the choice of cinnamon, buttermilk or maple syrup. Little sausages Fruit Hot Chocolate My neighbor Katie also brought an egg [Continue Reading...]

Hot Chocolate Cookies

Sometimes a girl’s just got to have her chocolate. I was having a major chocolate craving the other day when I came across this recipe twice – I took that as a sign. I was working on my holiday cookie baking list and came across the recipe over at Tasty Kitchen and then I saw that my friend Laura at Real Mom Kitchen had posted them too. How could I not give them a try. Someone was sending me a message. I have to admit that usually chocolate is not [Continue Reading...]
