PVC Pipe Bow & Arrows

I am back with another fun activity I did with my Activity Day Girls.  Activity Day Girls are the girls from church age 8-12.  We meet together twice a month for various activities and fun! When I was in Utah (one of my many recent trips) my girls and I went to Swiss Days up in Midway.  There were lots of fun craft booths and one in particular caught my eye because it was doing a HUGE business.  The lines were long and I saw people all over the place [Continue Reading…]

Bath Salts for Mother’s Day {Activity Day Idea}

make your own bath salts

For our activity last week we made a fun, easy and inexpensive gift for the girl’s to give to their mothers for Mother’s Day.  We had to get it done early since I was going to be traveling the weeks before Mother’s Day. I found the recipe for the Bath Salts over at one of my favorite blogs – The Idea Room.  The recipe calls for table salt, epsom salts, baking soda and essential oils. I cut the recipe into a third so each girl could make their own.  We [Continue Reading…]

DIY Moss Covered Eggs

I finally managed to get my Valentine Decor put away (o.k., so it made it as far as the dining room table) and pull out the Easter Decor this weekend.  I was shocked when I looked at the calendar and realized Easter was only two weeks away!  I figured if I was going to decorate I better get it done. I started my Easter grass a little late this year but hopefully I’ll have a nice crop of grass by Easter.  For more info check out my tutorial on Grow [Continue Reading…]

Trick or Treat Bags

Trick or Treat Bag

I am in Utah this weekend visiting the kids and seeing Cali’s show – The Hundred Dresses at BYU.  We are lucky to have lots of family in the area so I always have somewhere to stay since staying in a college apartment isn’t always the best choice!  This time I will get to see some of my favorite little people – 3 of my  nieces and nephews!  Often I like to take a little treat or gift along with me. When I saw these cute trick or treat bags [Continue Reading…]

Each year at church we have a “Super Saturday.”  It is a whole day full of fun craft and projects.  You can sign up for various classes and it is a fun day!  This year they asked me to help teach a class on jars.  I’ll be sharing all kinds of fun ideas to do with jars – ways to decorate with jars, gift giving ideas using jars, ways to serve food in jars.  Lots and lots of jars!  In addition to all the fun ideas they will be learning, [Continue Reading…]

Flower Belt Tutorial

Each year my girls and I come up with an inexpensive, handmade item they can give all their girlfriends as a Christmas gift. With two teenage daughters (alright, one is now in her early 20’s) there are always a lot of girlfriends on the Christmas gift list. That can get a little expensive. Several years ago we decided if they were going to give gifts to so many of their friends it needed to be inexpensive, handmade and something they can help make. Over the years, we have done some [Continue Reading…]

Thrift Store Treasures

I didn’t have a post planned for today but after my trip to Goodwill yesterday I just had to share.  Don’t you just love sharing a fun find or a good deal with someone. Thanks for letting me share. I picked up a few more frames for a project I have in mind for one of my walls.  It also involves spray paint.  I was excited to find a small square mirror (they are hard to find at Goodwill!) for another project I have in mind that also involves spray [Continue Reading…]

Camp Crafts}Collage Blocks and Decorative Clothes Pins

When we were planning out our crafts for camp we were working with a limited budget.  We were planning on 200 girls and have about a dollar a day for each girl and each craft. I think we did pretty good.  We were able to make really good use of our paper and cut everything we needed for all four crafts from just two sheets of paper per girl! For day three at camp we will be making these cute collage blocks. I don’t have any pictures of the actual [Continue Reading…]
