Ooey, Gooey Chocolate Chip And Toffee Bars

Chocolate Chip and Toffee Bars

I’ve just got one word to say about these ooey, gooey chocolate chip and toffee bars. Danger! They are full of chocolate, toffee bits and ooey, gooey goodness.   The ooey gooey part is provided by the sweetened condensed milk which is spread in the middle of the bar. The sweetened condensed milk turns into caramel as it bakes and makes these bars pretty much irresistible!  I only make these if I can going to have company or have to take a treat somewhere or else I would eat the [Continue Reading...]

Perfectly Pumpkin Gooey Cookie Bars

Pumpkin Spice Magic Cookie Bars

Today’s recipe is one of those recipes that have been around for decades. Your mother made them and probably your grandmother. Originally they were called a Seven Layer Bar because there were 7 layers of goodness in one bar cookie. Today we’re calling them Perfectly Pumpkin Gooey Cookie Bars. I’ve made a few tweeks to the recipe and only used 6 layers. I left the coconut layer out because I’m not a fan of coconut. To make the recipe quicker and easier I’ve used one of Pillsbury® ‘s new fall [Continue Reading...]

Mud Hen Bars

Mud Hen Bars

Today’s recipe is  a Recipe Redo and one I have had in my recipe file for years – it is also in our “Best of the Best Family Recipes” cookbook because it is a keeper. I have no idea why they are called “Mud Hen Bars”.  When I googled the name I discovered there is a Mud Hen, New Jersey so maybe they were first made there.  A Mud Hen Bar is the perfect solution to any chocolate, marshmallow, ooey, gooey craving you may be having.!! It starts with with [Continue Reading...]

Caramel Rice Krispie Bars

I love a good rice krispie treat.  For me a good rice krispie treat is not  too crispy!  I like mine a little softer and a little more gooey than the standard recipe. So I do my treats a little different.  I use a whole bag of marshmallows but instead of just a couple of tablespoons of butter like the recipe usually calls for I add in a 1/2 a cup.  I promise you won’t be sorry! I put it all in a nice big glass container and then heat [Continue Reading...]
