Perfectly Pumpkin Gooey Cookie Bars

Pumpkin Spice Magic Cookie Bars

Today’s recipe is one of those recipes that have been around for decades. Your mother made them and probably your grandmother. Originally they were called a Seven Layer Bar because there were 7 layers of goodness in one bar cookie. Today we’re calling them Perfectly Pumpkin Gooey Cookie Bars. I’ve made a few tweeks to the recipe and only used 6 layers. I left the coconut layer out because I’m not a fan of coconut. To make the recipe quicker and easier I’ve used one of Pillsbury® ‘s new fall [Continue Reading...]

Mud Hen Bars

Today’s recipe is  a Recipe Redo and one I have had in my recipe file for years – it is also in our “Best of the Best Family Recipes” cookbook because it is a keeper. I have no idea why they are called “Mud Hen Bars”.  When I googled the name I discovered there is a Mud Hen, New Jersey so maybe they were first made there.  A Mud Hen Bar is the perfect solution to any chocolate, marshmallow, ooey, gooey craving you may be having.!! It starts with with [Continue Reading...]

Caramel Rice Krispie Bars

I love a good rice krispie treat.  For me a good rice krispie treat is not  too crispy!  I like mine a little softer and a little more gooey than the standard recipe. So I do my treats a little different.  I use a whole bag of marshmallows but instead of just a couple of tablespoons of butter like the recipe usually calls for I add in a 1/2 a cup.  I promise you won’t be sorry! I put it all in a nice big glass container and then heat [Continue Reading...]

Yeah, happens to me all the time. Several months ago I attended a  Gymanfa-Ganu.  Now if you have no idea what that is or how to pronounced, no worries.  Either did I.  It is pronounced guh-mahn-vah GAH-nee and it is a Welsh hymn-singing festival.  It literally means “sing gathering.”  It [Continue Reading...]

A few weeks ago I was invited to lunch by a dear friend of mine.  She is getting ready to celebrate a milestone birthday and she wanted my help in planning her party.  I love a woman who plans her own birthday party!!   In exchange for my help she fixed me lunch – a delicious lunch!  Not only is Bev a wonderful cook but she has the magic touch when it comes to decorating too.   I could spend hours wandering around her house looking at everything. For lunch she served [Continue Reading...]
