Staying Connected

Note:  I’ve got photos and links to some of my favorite strawberry recipes on the side bar.  I’m headed out tomorrow to pick strawberries!

Today I just wanted to update you on a few things and let you know the various ways you can stay in touch with Your Homebased Mom.  You don’t want to miss out on anything!!

I stay connected to my favorite blogs three different ways.  Through my RSS feed, via email updates and from Facebook.  You can subscribe to my blog via RSS feed or email on the front page of the blog.

Just look for these cute little green buttons on the right hand sidebar.

You can also use one of those buttons to “Like” my Facebook page.  If you haven’t done so yet I’d love for you to “Like” me.  I’d also love for you to share my page with your friends.  Some of you may or may not be aware of some of the changes Facebook has made recently so if you like to receive my blog updates via Facebook you need to do one thing to make sure you continue to get them.  While you are on Facebook go over to Your Homebased Mom Facebook page and hover your mouse over the “Like” button.

Be sure you select “Show in News Feed.”

I so appreciate those of you who take the time to leave a comment on my blog.  Not only do I love hearing from you but it helps me grow my blog.  Since leaving my other direct sales business blogging is my “full time” job so your support is very appreciated.  Comments help my blog grow!  For those of you who don’t like to leave comments there is another way you can help me grow my blog.  At the top of my posts you will see some little buttons – they say Pin It – Share on Facebook – Tweet It – Share on Google +

If you like one of my posts I’d love it if you would click one of those buttons – Pin it to one of your boards on Pinterest, Share it with your friends on Facebook, Tweet about it or share on Google+.  You can pick one or do all of them if you’d like!

If you don’t follow me on Pinterest you should.  I am in the process of reorganizing all my boards so be a patient with me.  I am hoping to pin all of my recipes to Boards so you will have a full collection of them.  This may take a while since I have four years worth of recipes on the blog but I’m working on it.  You also have the option to follow individual boards if you don’t want to follow everything I pin.

One more way we can stay connected and one of my latest little fun addictions is Instagram.  It is an app that is available on the IPhone or the Droid.  If you are on Instagram you can follow me @yourhomebasedmom.com.  You can check out my photos of some of the “behind the scenes” action here at Your Homebased Mom, get previews of upcoming fun from the kitchen and you can also follow my progress as I post photos of #wedding carnival and all our preparations this summer for my son’s wedding.

So there you have it – lots of options to make sure you don’t miss out on anything that’s happening here on the blog.  Just want you to know how much I appreciate you reading the blog.

I am especially grateful for those of you who take the time to send me an email or leave me a comment letting me know how much you enjoy it.  It keeps me going on those “I’m not sure I should keep blogging” days I have once in a while!

So come visit me on the blog, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+ or Instagram!

PS – I’m not a big Twitter but you can follow me there too!

I don’t often comment, but I am a regular reader and enjoy and appreciate your blog. My youngest, the only child still at home, will be a junior this year, so I always sympathize with your empty nest posts and am inspired by the ways you find to stay in touch with your kids. Love your craft and party ideas, and keep those recipes coming… my recipe notebooks are filled with your goodies!

Hi Leigh Anne! I follow along with your lovely blog and I just found you on Instagram! It’s my favorite photo sharing site, I am dsolzer there. There are so many ways to social network now and keeping up with them all runs me in circles sometimes. lol I also have a twitter account but I don’t use it very often. I do love me some Pinterest! I’d say that drives a lot of traffic to my blog and even when life throws me curve balls and I can’t get to posting, my Pinterest account and a some of my highlighted posts continue to send traffic my way. Thanks for sharing the social options you use. Cheers and Happy Day!

I think I’m currently following you just about every way there is! lol Love, love, love your content and you have definitely made this Michigan gal have a strong desire to visit the Pacific Northwest!

With all of the FB changes, I wanted to share some info that I’ve learned – although the “show in my newsfeed” helps, it won’t guarantee that your FB posts show in someone’s newsfeed…I found this article helpful to learn how to use FB better with their new “enhancements” (HA!) http://www.momcomm.com/2012/06/facts-about-facebook-promoted-posts/

Thanks so much for all of your posts!

Your blog is one of my favorites. I just had my daughter’s high school graduation party and your blog was a huge help! I used many of your recipes and also a photo booth. I had many friends and families ask for the recipes and I referred them to your blog. Keep the great ideas coming and I wish you success in your new ventures in life!

So glad you stopped over. Aren’t we lucky to live in the NW! Just came in from strawberry picking. Fresh berries are one of the best things about the NW!
