Stay Tuned!

We are home safe and sound from a total of 1,600 miles and 25 hours of driving.  I need a day to unpack and get caught up.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for a great giveaway and then let the holiday baking and candy making begin!

I’ll  have some great new recipes to share this week too!

One thing that all those miles and and hours in a car allows is alot of reading!

I was able to finish The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski which I enjoyed.

All three of us listened to Twenties Girl by Sophia Kinsella on CD.  It was a fun and entertaining story and all three of us enjoyed it – even my husband.  Thanks mom for the recommendation.

On the way home we listened to  Traveling with Pomegranates by Sue Monk Kidd and her daughter Ann Kidd Taylor.  Unlike Secret Life of Bees and The Mermaid Chair this book is not fiction.  It is a memoir of their experiences of traveling together in Europe.  The mother’s struggle with  coming to terms with turning fifty (I can relate to that one) and the daughter’s self discovery.  I enjoyed it more than the rest of the passengers in the car.  Tessa put plugged in her DVD and watched Gilmore Girls but Jim listened along as he had no other choice!  Tessa heard enough though and has already started planning our mother/daughter trip to Europe.  We’re thinking a Jane Austen tour!

My favorite read of late was one I finished right before we left for Thanksgiving – Sarah’s Key.  I highly recommend this book.  It may be my favorite read of 2009!

I’ve been working hard at my 2009 goal of reading 50 books!  Not sure I’m going to make it but I’ll come close.

I’m off to unpack and get caught up on a few things but will be back tomorrow with a great giveaway!  My daughter owns one and loves it!  Can’t wait to share another great homebased business with you.

Glad you had a safe trip going and coming back home. Thanks for the continued inspiration. Now I need ideas on how to lose the weight from trying all the yummy recipes. . . .Yes, I know one piece should be sufficient. . . . . .but the second one was calling my name.
