The orange flavored cookie is light and refreshing and the addition of white chocolate chips just makes it even better.
Orange creamsicle cookies are a fun take on one of my favorite flavors from childhood!
When I was a kid, there was nothing better on a hot summer day than an orange creamsicle bar. I love the combination of orange and vanilla. In fact, last week I was in San Diego with some girlfriends and we went to the local ice cream place and when I saw they had orange creamsicle ice cream on the menu, I knew what I was getting. It was so good!! I was really glad the scoops were huge!
So after spending a week away from my kitchen I was itching to do some baking. I had orange creamsicle on my mind and decided to experiment with a few orange cookie recipes.
The combination of orange and white chocolate chips in a cookie is delicious, almost as good as an orange creamsicle. The orange flavored cookie is light and refreshing and the addition of white chocolate chips just makes it even better.
How to Make Orange Creamsicle Cookies
- These cookies use both orange extract which you can find in the baking aisle, and orange zest. I use a micro planer to make my zest, it’s one of my favorite kitchen tools.
- I always line my baking sheets with parchment paper and use my favorite large baking sheets. Having a good heavy cookie sheet can make a big difference in how your cookies bake and brown.
- To make sure I get round, evenly shaped cookies I always use a cookie scoop. I have several different sizes but this one is my favorite size for cookies.
- Don’t over bake these cookies, you want them to just be slightly browned around the edges.

These sound great, I am going to try them for a cookie exchange. How many cookies did this make?
Leigh Anne says
It made just about 3 dozen cookies – have fun with your cookie exchange!

my recipe is similar but calls for Tang, so it gives it a nice citrus bite to go with the sweet creaminess

This is also my favorite flavor. There is a restaurant in West Seattle that makes the most delicious creamsicle milk shake. So yummy, I think I need to get one. I will definity try this recipe and pass on to my sister who also likes this flavor. She has a recipe for a cake in this flavor.

I have a recipe that is almost identical to this except it has 1 tsp. of Vanilla extract. I think it gives the flavor of the vanilla ice cream. Try these frozen they are excellent! My husband likes them best only a few minutes out of the freezer.
