My mouth is watering. Nothing more enjoyable than sharing amazing food and wine with friends. Watched the movie last night and after reading your blog today, I'm off to buy the book. Thank you for sharing Leigh Anne. And thank you Julia. Happy cooking!

Thank you for sharing ideas. Last year, three of us who regularly try to cook decided to celebrate her 97th birthday with a JULIA CHILD BIRTHDAY DINNER PARTY. We had a grand time, made up our own invitations, had aprons made for the main chefs and only permitted authentic JC recipes to be used. We loved it so much that we are doing it again this year for BD #98! And this year we had already decided to do the Boeuf Bourguinon - last year was Chicken Fricassees in Red Wine (Coq au vin).

Thanks so much for information on this meal. I am in a film study group and my movie is Julie & Julia. I plan to have a dinner party for 15. Any suggestions other than what you have listed would be great! It will be May 22 here in Louisville, KY. Can I borrow your Julie & Julia stuff? Anything in particular we should do that would be exactly like the movie for this group? We do plan for sure to serve the Boeuf Bourguinon and Choc. Almond Cake. Also, I want to do a gift bag for each with a pound of butter and the recipes of what we are eating. Anything else you can think of to make it a hit would be greatly appreciated.

I watched the movie a couple nights ago and tonight Boeuf Bourginon is in my oven. My house smells delicious and I can't wait to taste it. We are planning a Julia Child party as well. What fun we are having!!

I am planning on having a dinner and a movie night. A Boeuf Bourguinon and perhaps the Chocolate cake. I googled ideas for a Julie and Julia dinner party and came across your site. Plans are to have it in the middle of January when there's not much going on. Thanks for sharing.
