Well - an aebleskiver pan is made out of cast iron - thus it is viewed by airport security as a potential weapon. Can't you just see me, running down the aisle of the plane, waving a cast iron pan!

We were flying with my daughter and one of her friends who was going to visit her sister in Utah and they like to make aebleskivers so she thought she would take the pan with her and make some for her sister. The worst part is - she had left it at home and we had called her other sister to bring it to us at the airport. (60 minute round trip) We had already checked our bags so figured she could just carry it on - WRONG! After all that hassle we ended up having to leave it in the garbage at the airport because we didn't have time for anything else!

Aebleskiver pan? I am very curious now. How is this item a weapon and why were you taking it on the airplane?
